I recently visited your café for a quick lunch and had an extremely disappointing experience. After scanning the QR code to place our order, the app froze just as I was about to pay. I went inside to order at the counter, explaining that the app had crashed. I ordered two paninis, one with chips, and paid. It was only afterward that I realized I had been charged more than what was displayed on the app. When I asked about it, I was told the 20% public holiday surcharge wasn’t included in the app pricing – even though it was. The manager came over to our table, and after explaining the issue, he finally realized we had been charged for a full bowl of fries, not the side portion we originally ordered via the app. I explained that the charge should match what was on my app, but his response was, "Oh no, you were charged for a full bowl – that’s why." There was no apology, no offer of a refund, and not even a simple gesture like a complimentary coffee to make up for the mistake. Given that we paid an additional 20% surcharge for service, the service we received was severely lacking. Sadly, we won’t be returning.

3.7. Feels and is a bit old fashioned in look. Sometimes that’s a virtue. This is a nice little place with a substantial outdoor area at the front facing the bay and catching the water. The cafe proper is sometimes open to the elements at the front when the weather is right. It was a cool and sunny day and open to the air was just the right feel today. I had difficulty choosing the food today. The Dagwood Bumstead burger, basically a hamburger with the lot with chips on the side, sounded pretty good. My partner selected the BLT with cheese. The food was old fashioned but good. It was just what we were after. The burger was big, tasty and generous. A substantial meal with done lovely chips. The BLT was very well received too. It was all delightfully retro. There was good music playing too. Nice service throughout as well and the staff seemed happy and engaged. I realized I’ve been here a number of times over the years and I’ll definitely return again.

ORDERED: 🥚 Scrambled eggs on toast + 🥓 bacon ($22.00) 🫖 Sencha tea ($4.50) I paid $29.95, which included the weekend surcharge and a processing fee. REVIEW: ✔️ As I already mentioned to them on Instagram, I was happy with the portion size! ✖️ But the scrambled eggs dish was a bit plain. They were also not creamy enough for me, but coming with the lumpy kind that was a little dry. ✖️Notably, the bacon I paid extra for tasted a bit too smoky with a greasy bitter after taste. It was really disappointing. Wouldn't recommend this dish. ➖️ Wish we could've ordered paninis from the app - or been reminded to go inside to have a look!! They looked great. ✔️ There was also a convenience of seating ourselves outside. Also, the added efficiency of self ordering through the app was great! 📲 They've also kindly put blankets outside in a basket to help yourself to if you're feeling cold. Very considerate. 🤠

After having had this cafe recommended some years ago, I took my famly for lunch here on the way to Sorrento! I WISH WE'D NEVER STOPPED! We sat outside at first but I noticed my new white linen shorts had long brown marks from under the wooden bench....... either a wood stain or just old greasy dirt. We moved to another table and I showed the staff my stained shorts. No one cared and all that was said was "that it has never happened before!!" There was NO offer to help me clean my clothing. I asked for something to scrub my shorts and the unfriendly young man gave me a stinking kitchen cloth. We ordered lunch for my hungry family and that was SO disappointing! The two LAMB SALADS were greasy, dry and overcooked.... small serves too for $25 each. The brisket panini was like it had been drenched in oil..... awful. One wrong drink arrived... a milkshake instead of a smoothie and my grandson's milkshake was undrinkable. Totally watery and tasteless. He left it almost untouched. When I told the older staff member how bad it was, he barely reacted. To spend about $110 for such shocking food is unacceptable! I paid and we left! We had our coffees and cake in Sorrento.... To have my clothes stained from underside of the outdoor table is the last straw! I've washed them and the stains won't come out properly! We are local Peninsula residents and we will NEVER go there again! KEEP DRIVING.....and go to...

Incredibly disappointed with this cafe which appears to be trading off reputation rather than ongoing good service. It appears to be more interested in making a profit from tourists rather than treating them as paying customers. Ordered a coffee 3 days ago which was bitter and much worse than a standard Nespresso coffee and I've gone elsewhere since for coffees. Gave them a second chance today which was a bad decision - ordered online and waited almost an hour for a very simple order to be ready and only after having to enquire twice. At the end of the hour was told that the sausage roll I had ordered was not available and that I would have to wait at least a further 10 minutes for them to warm up a replacement panini. There is no excuse for this type of poor service when my mobile number was easily available and at any time I could have been contacted to let me know about the sausage roll unavailability. When finally opening the bag of food back at the beach, the ham and cheese croissant which was ordered had been traded for a plain croissan again with no communication. Couldn't be bothered going back. Give them a big miss and go to Ivy Co which has great coffee or Beach Box which has fast and efficient service. Have never written such a poor review about a place previously but this cafe seriously takes the cake for poor customer service and...
