To my shame I am yet to be ushered into the mystery of the name; is it something to do with the observation that both the front of house guy and the depths-of-the-kitchen-fires guy (each of whom, alongside the rest of the crew here have that happy knack of greeting you like a long lost pal and attending to your appetite with the upmost solicitude) sport albescent locks? Is it because it is undeniably fun here? I can't say, but I will affirm that the combination of atmosphere and edibles keeps me coming back. A small but well appointed space with clean lines and a contemporary palette, a forward soundtrack of both new and unwearied-by-age tunes, situated in that perennially colourful zone of upper Brunswick St; had you porpoise-fully rocketed up and down a dozen laps of the Fitzroy swimming baths here would be one of the closer spots to assuage your famishment, had you merely shopped yourself hungry at the swimsuit store across the street, seeking the perfect swimsuit to get all aqualine at some point in the dreamy future you'd be nearer still. The food, brunchy classics and playful innovation, is meticulously prepared and reliably moreish, the scrambled eggs, always a mark, I think, of someone who knows just how to coax perfection out of deceptive simplicity are all of that. This is the kind of place I like to go to for a batch (or five) for ages and just totally chill. 100% one of my favourite places to go on my own. Perks: open til 5 on weekdays, the batch is $3 a cup and VERY GOOD, very friendly, country-style service, very non-pretentious but with pretentious-standard...

All up, not a great experience.
If you need a takeaway coffee, go for it, if you want anything else, I'd...
