To all seafood lovers, this place is for you! RST offers an extensive seafood menu, and they do everything exceptionally well.
We started with the oysters, and they were perfect. The Bloody Mary oyster was so good that we ended up ordering another round. I usually prefer fresh oysters over Kilpatrick, but these weren’t overpowering with sauce or bacon. The bruschetta was delicate yet incredibly flavorful.
The steamed chilli mussels had an Asian flair with a slight kick, adding a nice twist to the dish. The George whiting in crumb was good, though I would have preferred it served whole rather than cut up—but that’s just my personal preference.
Everyone at the table ordered a crayfish, and I can see why. It was perfectly cooked, and the sauces were fantastic! We tried both the thermidor and garlic butter sauces. While both were amazing, I’d have to give the edge to the garlic butter—it’s a classic combo for a reason.
Highly recommend visiting if you’re craving seafood! I hadn’t had proper seafood in a while, and this place definitely...
Read moreIn love. Behind the most uninspiring entrance door, is the most spectacular restaurant bar. Decor was a fusion of tavern and fine dining, a little unsure at first. An inexperienced waiter, made up for it with his enthusiasm, and older waitresses (maybe the owner/managers) were very knowledgeable and efficient. I love it. All doubts were expelled at the first slurp of the seafood chowder! With pieces of scallops, prawns and calamari, this was the best seafood chowder I've ever had. This literally left a smile on our faces at the first taste! Next came the perfectly cooked mussels in an acidic tomato broth, with shallots and capsicum. A large bowl for only $16. Well worth it! Our main meal to share was the gnocchi with lobster tails in a champagne sauce. For $40 a plate, RST was not shy with their lobster portions. The meal was basically 50% gnocchi and 50% lobster pieces. Paired with beautiful wines, this was one of the best restaurant experiences we've had in a...
Read moreThis is a pretty good seafood restaurant with an extensive menu. The staff are also extremely friendly and attentive. They are always making sure you are sorted and have a full glass of water.
While most seafood restaurants are always on the expensive side this is a bit overpriced for what they serve as a few dishes need some improvements.
We ordered mini lobster bug tails with honey and sesame seeds. I found this a bit sweet and overly fried. We also had seafood linguine with mussels, prawns, octopus and scallops which was a yummy dish. Three of us had the bay lobster and champagne gnocchi in a cream sauce. The gnocchi itself was very soft and delicious however overall I found this dish a bit heavy and too creamy. It would have been nicer with a lighter sauce. The fresh seafood platters looked great and might be the better dishes to order.
Overall a decent restaurant with great staff, lots of variety, just needs a few improvements on...
