Don’t post a lot of reviews but decided to do one for this…. Overall, the place is very nice and cosy for a dinner….but there was a few things last night that were disappointing. Understand sometimes places can have off nights and things don’t always go to plan but we were both very disappointed with our experience last night. First of all, no beers available on tap, they were down….we ordered starters which was the Focaccia and Antipasto Plate, the Antipasto was nice but when you pay $9 for a focaccia, I would have thought there would be more than two fingers of bread…. As we finished our entree, we were asked if we wanted our Main to be started and we said yes, the waitress (who was very nice across the night) came back and said it was already ready and she bought them out….the steak was good, but it was only warm to say the least and to make things worse, we waited for cutlery to come to the table (which didn’t arrive) and I had to go up and ask for some… We didn’t want desert but instead just wanted a coffee, but we were told no options for any other milk but normal milk (no almond, no oat, no lactose free)….luckily neither of us have a dietary requirement, we just prefer almond or oat…..surprising that a restaurant on Lygon Street in Brunswick doesn’t have these options available….. With the current cost of living crisis, a night out to a nice restaurant is even more of a luxury these days and it’s something a lot of people look forward to and treat themselves….but considering we paid over $160 (which is probably the new normal) last night, we left...

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a Friday lunch at Bouvier Bar & Grill on Lygon Street in East Brunswick, and let me just say—it was nothing short of spectacular! Despite being a bit quiet, the slick decor created an inviting space that was perfect for our gathering of wine enthusiasts eager to indulge. Now, onto the star of the show: the steak. We opted for the medium-rare special, featuring three different cuts that satisfied our hungry group of five perfectly. The Stone Axe Wagyu Flat Iron and the MS 8-9 Striploin were both cooked to absolute perfection, juicy and bursting with flavour accentuated beautifully by the rich red wine jus and the earthy mushroom sauce. The service at Bouvier Bar & Grill was outstanding. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, with all our wine decantated, and clean glasses provided for each new wine! It was great to have a waiter that genuinely cared about our dining experience. A highlight that can’t go unmentioned is the BYO option, which made it easy for our group to bring in our favourite wines to complement the incredible meal. The modest corkage fee was a small price to pay to be able to bring that wine you've been keeping for a special occasion. Overall, I cannot recommend Bouvier Bar & Grill highly enough for those looking for that union of perfect steak, wine, and...

What an absolute gastronomic experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The menu was bursting with flavour and creativity, each dish perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. The food was nothing short of amazing every bite left us wanting more. From the delicious focaccia, croquettes, fresh homemade pasta to the incredible steaks experience that was mouth watering delicious. The service matched the quality of the cuisine, with staff who were warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. It’s rare to find a place where both the food and hospitality shine so brightly. Bouvier Bar & Grill is not just a restaurant – it’s an experience. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just treating yourself to a night out, this place delivers in every way. Well done Adrian and team...

Bouvier is a hidden gem of Lygon Street. Unassuming from the outside, the inside is a sleek, cosy cocktail bar and bistro serving classic and well executed NY Italian-inspired fare. The snacks are a must - I loved the gnocco frito, anchovy toast and corn ribs with chimichurri. They also do a truly excellent prawn tagliatelle that’s hearty and well flavoured with plenty of garlic and breadcrumbs, but not too rich. The cauliflower with garlic labne and steak frites are also lovely. To drink, there are plenty of great wines but the cocktails really shine - namely the banana-forward king king and the apple pie moonshine-driven chiaro de luna.

I just went there this evening after seeing the pasta bambino sign outside, the restaurant is so lovely inside, the music was nice and relaxing and not too loud or overwhelming. We were greeted straight away and the service was spot on. The food menu looked really nice, for the entree we chose the garlic bread and the little croquette and for the main I had the rigatoni and my pasta had the potato gnocchi, both of our dishes were generous and so good. We didn’t have deserts tonight but we intend to come back to try some more pasta ! I strongly recommend, on the top of it all, it was very reasonably priced for the quality of food !

Came on a quiet Thursday night and were treated to a real good meal and very nice service. The entrées were the highlight of the meal - excellent meatballs with great rich tomato sauce. Roast cauliflower was great also. Tempted by the steaks but we went for the pasta mains. Gnocchi was great, great earthiness from the mushrooms and sauce. Prawn linguini was okay - it was nicely presented but I’m not a huge seafood fan and wasn’t sold on the sauce. Figured we’d get dessert so we went for the panacotta. Solid dish with good texture, good way to cap the meal.
