I was so excited to have a proper Bahn Mi and Pho restaurant at my local shops - about time! All bahn mis have become a lot more expensive recently, but today when I ordered the crispy roast pork by itself for $16, I didn't expect to be robbed. I brought it home to weigh the meat (as the server did not do this as they usually do at other stores), to find that I had paid $16 for 158g of meat - that amounts to just over $100/kg. That's insane. Most other take away shops sell crispy roast pork at anything from $40 up to $60/kg. When I returned to the shop to ask what their per kg price was, she said $80. I showed her that I had only received 160g, which was $100/kg, to which her response was "we sell at $8 for 100g". The fact that my meat was never weighed, the fact they don't advertise their per kg price, and the fact that they overcharged, or under served, me is really horrible. Yes, it is tasty, and a great shop - but don't rob...

**Updated review for Bun Mee & Pho

Lovely customer service by the new owners. The pho was tasty with plenty of condiments ($17). I also loved the coconut juice served in the original cup, so refreshing. Good range menu options that I'd like to try next time. Great option for this little food court. Viet cuisine is limited around the area so I'm glad Pho Village is here. Pho ($17), vermicelli salad ($16), rice paper rolls ($12)...all tasty, fresh and good portion size. They also have all the sauces, make sure to ask for that chilli oil they make in-house! Kids also love the large bag of fresh prawn crackers for...

The presentation is good and the staff are nice. But I just find the food rather flat. I've had food from here twice and been underwhelmed each time.

To be fair they do have a fairly big menu, and I've only tried the salt and pepper chicken and noodle soup - maybe some their other stuff is good. But I would definitely advise against the salt and pepper chicken, which was not very nice at all. It was dry and doughy.

I might be tempted to try some of the ready to serve hot stuff on the counter another time - as it did at...

Good things come to those who wait, which couldn’t be truer here. No real sense of urgency, and possibly the slowest Bahn mi I’ve ever been served, but…delicious. The ingredients are all fresh, the meat cooked beautifully, and the whole place is spotlessly clean. Kind of a shame they’re so slow to prepare. Also (not that this impacts my score in any way) but a real shame it happens to be in the least accessible shopping centre in Melbourne. The carpark here is horrific.
