Caesar's Italian Cuisine — Restaurant in Melbourne

We have been regular customers here for 10 years. Seriously considering whether to go back again after tonight's poor service. Firstly a surcharge of $.83 for paying via eftpos on an almost $50 meal for 3. Not a credit card, ALL CARDS. So unless you pay cash, you will be stung. Secondly my carbonara has pepper on it. So no dinner for my son tonight & the fettuccini is either snapped in half or cooked too long. It's all short, like I'm eating baby food. Extremely disappointed.

Response: it was late (for us) to eat already. This is why we ordered from you in the first place. The option to pay cash was offored after I had arrived at the restaurant. The main purpose of my review was to inform others that if they wish to avoid the surcharce, bring cash. It would have taken me another 10 min to leave & return with cash. I didn't notice the meal wasn't quite right until I had arrived home. It would have been much longer had I asked for another to be made. I've ordered many carbonara's & never specified 'no pepper' which is why my son has always enjoyed it. Instead of trying to make me feel like a valued customer here you have simply just argued each point I have made. This seems to feel like it's all on me. 'I should have known to bring cash, to ask for no pepper & double check my fettuccini is long before heading home'. I also need to check my account now after being double charged here in the past with no apology, just reasons given for how it could have occurred. Sorry for being such a painful customer. I will have to make myself a check list so I'm not such a nuisance...

i noticed 4 years ago i gave a 1 star which is really harsh, it was around the time my dad died and I was bitter and I think you messed up my wine order, eikther way, I am changing that rating today. I order from you guys generally once a month. My father Barry Sheppard ordered off you weekly, we used to eat in your restaraunt as a family when I was a child. The food is good and most of the time we get what we order. a few times I have been burned on my bottle of drink and often that is wine which does piss me off because by the time it is fixed i have already eaten my pizza so i have literally paid double the price for a bottle I could have gotten from maxi as it goes in the cupboard for another day, yes you always fix it up but it happens and is the reason I will never give 5 stars. I only ever order from you and from Lipari in Boronia, i love Pizza and you both are the best in the area. If I want wine I always order from you, if I want a meat lovers I order from you, if I want garlic and cheese or mexican I go to Lipari. Thanks for your service. You guys are...

We came in as a party of five, we were seated in the booth which was nice & cosy.

The service was a little slow, the young girl serving us was lovely, however she did manage to bring us the wrong pizza & even when we got all our pizza’s I still feel one of them was wrong, the Americana which was supposed to be hot & spicy had no heat in it at all, the other two pizzas were average, my gluten free pizza was hard, dry & tasteless, I asked for some extra virgin olive oil to drizzle over it to soften it, not only did the young girl bring me the tiniest amount, that didn’t help - but instead gave me a sore tummy (not sure it was olive oil?) My husband ordered the mango chicken which is not your typical Italian meal (I am Italian) the chicken fillet was very bland (tasted like a boiled fillet) & not fresh, the side veggies were literally just steamed, no flavour whatsoever, the mango sauce also had zero flavour - anyone could have slapped this dish together.
