I am currently pregnant and decided to sit for a meal and a drink with my children here at caffe dolce because to me it looked like a great place to eat. Initially my experience was great and the gentleman who sat us down was absolutely lovely and helpful. The waitress who brought out our drinks was engaging and happy and interacted with my children. Upon receiving my meal (a burger with salad) as I was taking bites and sharing with my daughter I noticed that a majority of the burger was raw. I quickly ate my salad and left the raw burger patty as I didnât have time to wait for another meal to be brought out. When I approached the desk to pay I notified the female owner who was working the coffee machine that the patty was raw and for safety reasons (my pregnancy) I couldnât ingest it. I told her I was not willing to pay full price and she got extremely angry and loud with me, very confrontational and offered to take $1 off my full order price. She looked at by burger and acknowledged that it was fully raw. She kept yelling and yelling at me while I stood there in front of her with my two small children in the pram. She kept repeating that I should have told her earlier, it was as if she was having a fight with herself because I didnât get one word in. After I said I would be happy to pay $1 less on my order and reminded her that I was simply letting her know the burger was raw she said, âYou wanna pay $20?!?! You can pay $20 I donât care!â And proceeded to yell at me some more which brought the cooks attention to the front desk. People were staring at her yelling at me. I felt extremely unwelcome and un cared for by the staff, I didnât see any other staff member coming to defend the situation or calm the manager down. I told her my burger was raw and she flew off the handle in a way I never imagined. I paid $20 for the meal, took my change as she was still blowing up and walked out calmly. I have never felt so stressed and upset at a restaurant and I was appalled that my children were exposed to such conflict from that woman as they are have never seen anything like that before. I will never visit this cafe again and I will never reccomend them. I am not a person who has ever had an issue with a meal that I felt I needed to voice, all I wanted was some understanding and a friendly...
Read moreEvery time I travel from my humble abode in regional Victoria to my GP's clinic (I have had the same GP for close to 20 years) in Keilor East - on public transport - I love to drop into this establishment - before or after my appointment with my GP - and buy something, be it either to sit down quietly for brunch or lunch or takeaway for a snack on the long journey home. Due to how I like to dress, which is in a vintage, vintage-inspired ensemble - I fondly remember the owner Peter asking me once if I barracks for Collingwood! I laughed and replied that don't the follow the AFL anymore, but I prefer REAL football - soccer and ordered something because he's infectious sense of humour and approach to customer service has always wanting me coming back for more. The varieties of breakfasts, lunches, snacks are very delectable, packed with flavour - be it made in house or not - are always served by him or his more than happy to serve you staff. Peter and his staff are not pushy, aggressive and don't pull tricks on their customers or try to upsell and upgrade you to make sales and their approach to customer service lead me to get a loyalty card which I still have. I haven't claimed a free tea/de-coffee yet, because I said I was more than happy to pay them and that I will wait until I am "absolutely desperate need of such refreshment..." I highly recommend them during this very unusual circumstance that we are ALL going through! To those who live locally or may or may not being doing it tough financially, mentally, physically or otherwise, I encourage you to support local, shop local businesses and support the public health system. These hard-working men and women of Australia need our support -...
Read moreWaited there for more than half an hour for my Uber order. When I went there and asked, the guy said that the order will be ready soon. He said wait outside, I will give you the food through the window. Then after 20 minutes I asked him again, he told with a very bad attitude that it will be ready soon just wait outside. I asked again after a while, is the food not ready, he said, it will take some more time. After some time i asked again and said, can you tell me the exact time, how long will it take, he answered I don't know the exact time again with that attitude. It took about 35 to 40 minutes to give me the order and then in their other reviews they said we make the food on time it was the drivers fault that they don't deliver on time. Why don't tell the exact time in the very beggining how long it take to be ready, rather than saying it will be ready soon it will be ready soon ,they just don't care about ...
