Had a booking for lunch. Waited 5 minutes to get shown to our table, no one approached us. Eventually we saw the table with our name and sat down. Waited a further 10 minutes after sitting down to get service but no one approached us. Eventually we finally managed to get a waitress attention and the attitude we received was extremely rude and seemed like we had completely ruined her day by daring to try and order our lunch. Worst of all not one person checked our vaccination status (yes we were all vaccinated and ready to show our certificate), also not one meme we of the kitchen staff was wearing a mask and of the serving staff two of the 3 were wearing them under their nose. For the food, chips came out on the cold side with no seasoning on them and the wagyu burger was lacking flavor. Overall prices are on the high side for what you get, especially as the quality is not great. I will never go back.
Replying to your post sweet lulu. Would love to see the video footage as it was longer then 1 minute. As for the gentleman who checked in, that was me and I had the other peoples details listed on my QR checking profile. The âsnapping of the fingersâ was due to the cafe being loud (as cafes tend to be) to try and get one of your staff members attention. As they seemed quite happy to ignore our table. Despite that, it still does not excuse your staff members rude behavior. It is disappointing that you would rather defend unprofessional behavior of your staff rather then address it to be class leading in customer service. Also based on your response, as no one in the kitchen had masks, I believe you are trying to say they all have exemptions which I find highly unlikely. Also for the wait staff who were not wearing it correctly, they did not wear it correctly for the entire time we were there. That seems a lot longer then a âbreakâ. Given you are a small business and would have had a downturn over the multiple lockdowns. I would have thought you would ensure your staff did everything possible to avoid further spread of Covid or at the very least do whatever they could to not get infected so you could stay open rather then need to close due to lack of staff. But I guess that is not the case. Again, poor attitude of the staff but based on your reply and trying to defend poor behavior I guess it is leader lead. Once again, will not go back and will tell all people I know how poor the experience was and never...
Read moreAte here on Monday morning. Cafe was clean and food was actually nice. The one downside was one of the female servers wearing gloves.
She wore them everywhere and touched EVERYTHING with them, including dirty tissues and napkins from another table before serving us our "clean" plates of food.
Pulled her aside and tried to explain the contamination risk that gloves pose, hand hygiene, washing hands or using an alcohol based hands rub, but instead she told me it wasn't because of covid, but because her hands get dry washing dishes. And she didn't have time to change gloves to avoid cross contamination. Her "white" gloves had started to have a yellow tinge to them!
She was completely non- receptive and had no idea on the concepts of hand hygiene, food safety and cross contamination. To try and appease me, she then used an alcohol based hand rub on her gloves!!!! This makes the gloves porous and even more susceptible to carrying and transmitting bacteria.
Management should be aware of their staff's practices because I left feeling incredibly disgusted and concerned at their food safety practices.
Happy to come back for the food and coffee, but if staff are wearing gloves, I'll be turning around and...
Read moreA great venue for Sunday brunch and meet up with friends café. The café has limited seating inside but there is plenty of outside seating due to its corner location. The decor is very inviting and comfortable. You will be pleased with the open and windowed outlook, which gives a fresh, bright, and pleasant atmosphere.
Staff are extremely friendly, professional, and attentive. Theyâre ordering system is streamline and flexible; you can order combination of quick snacks to have with your coffee or larger meals to dine. I tried a ham and cheese multigrain toastie with freshly squeezed orange juice - delicious.
As the name suggests âSweet Lulusâ is wonderful fine cafĂ© to order all those cakes and treats that youâre expecting to enjoy when you visit a cafĂ©, including cakes and slices. Try theyâre delicious hot scones with jam and cream.
Plenty of parking is available across the road, out front with unlimited time availability. You will find all day parking on the Old Calder Highway (the main road out front).
Due to it's popularity, you will find the café quite busy on a fine...
