We had the terrible misfortune of 'dining' here last night after a long hiatus, hoping things had improved and oh dear, what a mistake. The complete lack of love and connection to food and what it means to serve people proper food was instantly recognisable, and I cannot even imagine the state of the kitchen, given what we were served last night. The freekeh salad I ordered which I paid extra to have calamari come with, was an abomination. The grains were glued together and rock hard, and the calamari was the most tasteless lacklustre just revolting stuff of nightmare imaginable. It had been away from the ocean a really, really long time. My partner's burger was equally horrendous and his daughter's open souvlaki was bathed in hot sauce (?) and encased in a very stale pita. When the waitstaff came to collect the unwanted remains of the day and asked why there was so much food left over, we advised the food was the stuff of nightmares and to advise the chef, and there was no recourse, which of course, was testament to the lack of love for the food in the first place. What a shame as the RSL is somewhere we as a family would like to support but the food is not safe and is utterly disgusting, and without love or integrity...

Read moreFunction in Anzac Room - Perfect We needed a quiet and well priced function room for our Dad's memorial service. The Anzac Room at Caulfield RSL was absolutely perfect. There is ample parking, it has a lift for people less mobile, there is plenty of space and projector facilities. Shauna was amazing to deal with, we can't thank her and the other staff enough. The catering was amazing - superb quiches and enormous amounts of filling in the sandwiches. We were able to access the room the day before for set up, and were not hurried out on the day, it was very relaxed which you need at times such as this. Nothing was too much trouble and we were thrilled that we chose this venue. Highly recommend. Thank you...
