This is my 2nd time visiting Hanoi Hannah Elsternwick. I was there with my friends on Thursday evening at 7.00pm. After fasting the whole day and the weather was getting cold and rainy I craved some hot soup hence I ordered myself a Pho with beef and just a glass of tap water. The pho was delicious however the side dish was questionable, its consists of bean sprouts not given generously like other vietnamese restaurant and the mint leaves looks questionable too almost expired?or rotten? It just doesn't look right, I didnt think much it as I hadn't eaten all day so I popped some in my pho. We ate and we paid for our meal and off we go.
The problem was at around midnight I started having diarhhea and high fever. And the next day I started having constant stomach cramp plus previous symptoms mentioned. I believed these symptoms rooted from the food and tap water I had from here as I had not consumed any other food the day I visited this restaurant and leading to the next day as well. I am feeling quiet unwell and will need to visit a doctor. Hopefully the restaurant could take some precaution in keeping their tablewares, foods and vegetables fresh & hygenic moving...
Read moreJust ordered uber eats from here. Delivery was prompt, all things delivered as expected. I ordered x2 pho soup with chargrilled chicken & some other items. This place is super pricey! I was expecting the food to match the price. Soup broth was on point, as was the chicken. 👌 But... Noodles NOT cooked, I added EXTA mushrooms $6, Fresh chilli $1, Asian greens $5 My soup cost came to $39! Most expensive pho soup ive ever paid for! I was so underwhelmed. So dissatisfied with my meal! There was no chilli either! Lucky I had some in the fridge to add to my soup! I don't understand why my noodles were crunchy & vermicelli noodles too? Normally they are the flat rice noodles. There was barely any of the ingredients in my order. I don't know how they can charge so much with barely any ingredients. This place is overpriced and under delivered! Not happy! Very hangry customer. I had to take the noodles out of the bowl (it was inedible) to drink the broth. My husbands was exactly the same! We were both left baffled at the cost of the soup and the...
Read moreI have been here a couple of times because I love Vietnamese food and I extra love Vietnamese fusion food and this is one of the OGs in the Vietnamese fusion world. The place itself is always vibing! More casual then most of their sister restaurants, the music was pumping, the staff were smiling and you really feel welcomed as soon as you walk in. In terms of food though I have mixed reviews. The grilled banh mi could have banh better - a lil carrot or cucumber and some thicker pate would have made this a 10 out of 10 dish. It was also slightly burnt but I'm not holding that against them. The squid salad is mint loaded and a winning dish - full of flavour and dressed just right. And the chicken and broken rice bowl was just that, chicken and rice that was less broken than I would have liked. For Vietnamese it was good, for the price tag I’m definitely not complaining, but for Vietnamese fusion it was just missing its wow factor. For vegans they have a solid vegan menu - the mushroom pho was great and I loved the Hanoi...
