A Culinary Masterpiece: Cebu Lechon Charcoal Belly
I recently had the pleasure of tasting Cebu Lechon Charcoal Belly, and I must say, it truly lived up to its reputation as a world-renowned delicacy from the beautiful island of Cebu. The dish exceeded my expectations, and I wholeheartedly give it a well-deserved 5-star rating.
What truly sets this dish apart is the unique blend of herbs and spices used to marinate the pig before it's roasted. The expert chefs at Cebu Lechon Charcoal Belly meticulously stuff the pork belly with a mix of lemongrass, garlic, onions, and various other aromatic ingredients, resulting in a flavor profile that's simply unparalleled.
The cooking process itself is a work of art, with the meat being expertly roasted over an open flame while it's continuously basted to achieve a crispy, golden-brown skin. The slow roasting ensures that the meat remains tender, juicy, and infused with the rich flavors of the marinade from the outermost layer to the innermost part.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Cebu Lechon Charcoal Belly is that a dipping sauce is not even necessary. The meat itself is so full of flavor and perfectly seasoned that it stands on its own, making it an irresistible treat for both locals and visitors alike.
Cebu Lechon Charcoal Belly is a true gastronomic masterpiece that showcases the exceptional culinary skills of Cebuano chefs. If you haven't yet tasted this mouthwatering delight, I highly recommend treating yourself to a plate of this heavenly dish—you won't be...

NO WASHROOM or TOILET facilities for customers! They even have a sign saying this. Consider this when you have to drive from afar just to dine-in at their premises.
I drove 35mins (one way) just to dine-in for lunch at this place. After eating, I asked a long-haired staff if there is a public restroom nearby, he/she just said “I don’t know.” I felt dismissed. I mean I’m sure this is not the first time a dine-in customer would have asked this question since you have no facilities for customers to use, and he/she can’t even help direct customers to where there is? And, I am not sure that a dine-in food premise/restaurant not providing toilet facilities is even according to FSANZ regulations.
Food-wise: I had the lechon and rice combo, plus tortang talong from their bain-marie. Lechon was okay -- not sure if it's good or that I haven't eaten lechon for years and I'm craving; but not impressed with the tortang talong – something is amiss, and it tasted “floury”. One thing good is they provide free soup.
All in all, wasn’t impressed with the...
Read moreCame here for a weekend lunch just as it opened after a recommendation from a filo family. The initial vibe when you walk in is if a Filipino and the smell was amazing. We were salivating before we laid eyes on the lechon. There was a nice suckling pig on the charcoal already grilled and ready for serving. After checking out the menu, there was the lechon on rice that we had to get and although it was a little bit salty according to the missus. I didn’t mind it, it was the right amount of flavour on the lechon with white rice and a can of coke is a superb combo of mouth bites. The lechon skin is crackling and tasty, you can eat this all day long. There are sauces and vinegar with Kalamansi to add to your food. We also got some cook veggies to break up the lechon and that itself it was amazing and even better with the lechon. Cebu Charcoal really does lechon the right way and the offers a good authentic...
