What a gem! No idea how this place, which has been open for 8 years, is not famous, booked out nor super expensive. It is extraordinary. Last night Lazat was busy, several large groups seemed to be having banquets. Still, they found room for my wife and myself and we felt very welcome. The front of house staff are gracious. They're bright, courteous and charming, neither aloof nor familiar. We ordered quickly from their nicely laid-out menus. San choy bow and lobak for entree, I had a light beer and my wife had a glass of Brown Bros Moscato. These arrived quickly and were amazing. My main was Beef randang and roti whereas my wife had King prawns and vegetables with sides of coconut rice and green beans belacan. We were so into these amazing dishes we forgot to take photos. The lively happy environment and incredible flavours had to be experienced! All in all we were in and out in a little over an hour, so happy and so impressed! Well done Lazat!

Super tasty food. Very well done and authentic. We ordered for entree lobak and pan-fried dumplings. I thoroughly enjoyed the lobak, although found the dumplings to be nothing special - ok, but nothing special. My fiancée however wasn't overly keen on the lobak, but loved the dumplings!! Each to their own I guess :) For main we shared a steamed barramundi with ginger sauce and we both found it absolutely delicious!!! Highly, highly recommended! We also grabbed a side of garlic string beans and that was super flavoursome and really enjoyable too. If you're ever in the area and feel like a nice night out, come down to Lazat and check it out!! They also have a private function room with a karaoke set up for hire.

Having not been to a Malaysian-ish restaurant for a while we were hankering for some authentic Asian cuisine. A quick google search brought up lazat. A little tricky to find the entrance and being met with a rather tired exterior had us worried but those thoughts swiftly vanished when. We tasted the food. We had ordered seafood laksa, char kway teau, beef rendang, roti chanai with curry, nasi lemak, wonton noodle soup and ice kacang. I'll cut to the chase. The standout was the roti chanai. Best I have ever had in my life including those from Malaysia! Big statement yes. Colour me surprised, totally. Next nasi lemak and beef rendang in equal second. Then laksa. The others are ok. Give the ice kacang a miss.

Today I wanted to try this place with my friend, we went there to get take away, our orders were 2 fried rice and 2 rotti to go, the gentleman who was serving us said wait for 10 min, but then as we paid and we were waiting, the girls at the front desk were touching their mask and touching food that was being served to the customers. One girl at one point removed her mask with half of her face hanging out and was talking to a customer who just walked in as she was holding an order for a table, and then the guy at the front desk goes out to take the rubbish with no gloves on and packs the rubbish bags takes it outside and comes back right in without washing his hands and grabs a bowl and handed it to a table and then other girls gives him few plates of food to serve to the tables, and this all happened in those 20 minutes we were waiting which was a so called 10 minutes from them, and when my friend went to ask if it’s ready they girl at the front actually got very mad at him and yelled at him as well. I am watching this and these people weren’t wearing any gloves and they were all going around using the same computer screen to order for people who walked and they were taking cash and give change and then touching the food, it looked so gross. Literally if anyone wants to try this place just go and walk in there and watch for few minutes and you would never eat from there again, this just makes me wonder how gross their chef could be. Disrespectful and disgusting food manner. I wound never go here again under any circumstance. Not only that but when you walk in there is a pile of unwashed dishes on your left side as well as half eaten food, half cut veggies on chopping boards, bags of unwrapped herbs, amd unwashed veggies laying around with flys and bugs flying all...

We Ordered the nasi lamek, the beef was chewy and tough. How can you have a Malaysian resturant and not know how to cook tender beef as this is one of your main traditional dishes not to mention you do not make your own roti but serve it from frozen packets. The chicken curry laksa was just warm and tasteless, our mains came out before our appetizers so my son was waiting 10 minutes to eat while we ate in front of him. I told the staff about our experience and all we got was a sorry and we should of told you that the steamed buns would take longer, if I was not starving I would of left half way through, our roti rolls were nice but came out last and the roti wasn't made there but was from a frozen packet , we ordered this from your appetizer list. It's ment to be served first. We were full from the mains so we wanted to take the roti rolls home, I then asked for a takeaway container and was asked to pay for one if you had of got it right this wouldnt of happend absoloute deception and a waste of $65 .The worst malaysian resturant I have been to. I would...
