This is the worst place I ever been to, drove almost hour an half to experience something different, trust me you don’t want to do the same. When the food arrive on the table that’s definitely not what we expected. First of all roast polao with salad- came with normal rice but no salad, when asked I think owner replied “ dunia te Ekhon polao er rice paoa jay na eta shobai jane” seriously!!!!! Now come to the Chinese food, their speciality, ordered 2 plate, when arrived it’s not even a kids serve. Surprisingly next to our table ordered the same and by the looking of their plate, seems like they got the proper portion of it. Again when tried to get the clarification, they reply was- “amader boro serving plate sesh hoye giye silo, tai Apnaderke choto plate e deya hoyece”. Seriously!!!!excuses and excuses. We felt like we came here to eat free. Now if you have read above all, take this as an advise- think twice before you go there to eat. That’s all. Thank you

Serving sizes are extremely generous. Service is prompt and the post-meal tea was perfect. Included picture of mixed platter for under $20. Had the lamb kacchi - large serving and very tasty with some pieces of lamb a bit dry (likely due to us dining near closing time so of course it’s last of stock). This is a good meal to share before trying other dishes. The dining area was pleasantly spacious, heaps of space to dine and make yourself comfortable. Overall excellent experience and well worth the $$$ My only criticism is that this is undoubtedly a Bangladeshi restaurant but they meekly advertise themselves as an “Indian and Subcontinental” restaurant. We should boast our unique cuisine proudly and make our identity the primary selling point. I also saw 2 Indian PSOs walk in and walk out shaking their heads so it’s genuinely confusing. Just food for thought.

So happy that we have another Bangladeshi restaurant opened here in Melbourne. Today I tasted items like Fuska, vuna khicuri, kacci biryani, kebab, borhani. I would say most of them were 9 out of 10. Kacci was 10 out of 10. Kebab was average. I would highly recommend to try their kacci and khicuri. Fuska also should be a must try. However the service was very poor. Specifically the lady who was serving was super rude. They served food without spoon, fork etc which was Ok for a new restaurant. But when asking for water, she said we have to wait until our turn comes but could not get it finally. Wish this restaurant all the best. Hope they will improve the service over time. I’m sure I will give them 5 * next time one I get a good service.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Avoid This Place

Today, my family and I visited Cha-Adda with high hopes, as we love exploring different restaurants around Melbourne for unique culinary experiences. Unfortunately, this visit turned out to be an utter disappointment due to shockingly poor customer service.

One of the Bangladeshi waitresses displayed an unacceptable level of rudeness and unprofessionalism. Her behavior was dismissive, disrespectful, and completely out of place in any service-oriented environment, especially in a multicultural city like Melbourne where basic courtesy is expected. It genuinely ruined our experience to the point where we had no choice but to leave.

We raised our concerns with the owner, who informed us that the waitress was unwell, which was apparently the excuse for her behavior. However, this doesn't justify such an appalling attitude towards customers.

Later, we checked Google reviews and found multiple recent complaints mentioning the exact same waitress, which made us realize this wasn’t a one-off incident. Clearly, this is a recurring issue that the management has failed to address.

For a place that claims to offer hospitality and culture, this was a huge letdown. I would strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant until they take real steps to improve their staff’s attitude and customer...

I had the pleasure of experiencing the Iftar buffet at Cha Adda, and it was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we walked in, the warm hospitality and inviting ambiance set the perfect tone for a memorable meal.

The Iftar was truly impressive, featuring a great variety of traditional Bangladeshi dishes, from flavourful Chola, beguni to crispy pakoras and refreshing drinks like Rooh Afza. Every dish was cooked to perfection, with authentic spices and rich flavors that reminded me of home.

The highlight for me was the haleem—perfectly seasoned and comforting after a long day of fasting. Buffet dinner was incredibly good as-well. From the very first bite to the last, this buffet dinner was an absolute delight. Every dish was crafted with care, bringing out the richness of traditional flavors in a way that was both comforting and satisfying.

Rumna apu was incredibly attentive, ensuring that everyone was comfortable and had everything they needed. The food was constantly replenished, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

I highly recommend Cha Adda for anyone looking for a delicious and fulfilling Iftar experience in Melbourne. Will definitely be...

Well, didn’t wanted to write anything about their service but enough is enough. Can’t hold myself back now. As a customer we definitely have a right to give our opinion based on how we have been treated. Of course it may vary but YES we have had a really very bad experience with this service. Their food was awfully tasted bad. The quantity was really disappointing according their price. They do charge 4$ for the steam rice and 8$ for the polaw rice but they are using the same rice for both and when we asked SHE said “that’s how it is. They are serving this way for last 3 months, no one complained”. I mean are you serious!!!! We are all paying double and getting this !!!!! Even when we complained about some other things too she said “ it’s all her staff fault as her staff doesn’t know much about these things.” I mean you’re running a restaurant and hired someone who doesn’t know anything at all. The lady of the restaurant should learn how to train her staff too I think.

The moral of this whole story now is: If you’re ready to pay more and get less you all are welcome to this CHA ADDA but if you want to get what you paid for then...
