We used to live in Carnegie and come to Chichi House all the time, we moved elsewhere a few years ago, bit out of the way but we still loved coming here for the amazing food. However the service during our two most recent visits have been very off putting.
Last time, we booked online for a table in the courtyard, when we got there, they realised they never put a reservation sign on any table for us, and all the tables outside were taken - we have a dog and always have to sit outside. Today, we called in the morning to reserve a table, on the phone they said everyone is sitting inside but they will reserve a table for us outside, they didn’t ask our name. When we got there, I took the dog and entered from the back, my partner went in from the front and told them we were here. Two of the three tables were taken, and the middle one had a “reserved” sign on it so we sat there. After having sat there for 10-15 minutes, a waitress came to the back, took a scan at us and sighed, and went back to the front, then back again, asked if we could move to the bench because the table was reserved for someone. We said we called to reserve? And you said you’d reserve us a table? She was like, oh is your name “xxx”? I’m like no, but we made reservation on the phone, and we told you when we came in. Then the people who sat at the table behind us said “our table had a reserved sign as well, we will move”, as in they didn’t have a reservation, two tables out of three had reservation but the staff had no clue of what was going on whatsoever, without checking they asked us to move. I was very annoyed but had held it in, because the owner lady had always been nice to us but she wasn’t there. On top of this, we asked for water three times, got no water and I had to go to the front and asked them to hand it to me. Plus, the waitress couldn’t remember what we and the other table had ordered, had to ask again. I don’t get why she couldn’t write them down. The food has been great as always, but the staff requires a lot of training. Hopefully it will get back to their...
Read moreDon't let looks deceive you. From the outside Chichi does not stand out. This little cafe is Hidden off the main shopping strip on Poath Road and is just opposite the Hughesdale Station Carpark in Willesden Road. This little gem of a Cafe is worth the visit.
The Corn Fritters are absolutely amazing. 🌽 Topped with a Tumeric Cauliflower salad and served with a couple of perfectly poached eggs. 10/10 for my dish.
My partner has the Nasi Goreng Kampoeng. The presentation was amazing and his verdict was that we will definitely be coming back.
Reasonably priced - portion sizes are very large so perfect for brunch.
Vegetarian and vegan options are nice and I will be trying the Jackfruit enchiladas on our next visit.
Coffee was great and the fresh squeezed juices were both amazing.
Fast and friendly service and even though it was crowded, the noise was minimal.
Easy to access. Just across the road from Hughesdale Station. If driving then there is parking in Willesden Road but this can get quite busy. Luckily it is walking distance for us.
Pros: -Delicious and varied Asian Fusion Menu. -Close to Public Transport. -Amazing Coffee -Friendly staff -Fast service -Reasonable price...
Read moreThis place was so cute and in a nice road off the main road and right near a train station! The staff were so nice and friendly and willing to help with anything! The fritters were really nice and crunchy and complimented the beetroot labneh so well. the side salad cut through the dish leaving a beautifully clensed pallet and the dressing on the salad was also delish. the price of this dish was amazing for what you got too! The fritters could have used with a little bit more seasoning or salt to enhance the flavour that tiny bit more. The baked egg dish was so unique and fun. the potato gems were a fun quirky addition and tasted really nice too, as well as generously portioned. the corn chips added amazing crunch, and the cucumber and sour cream added beautiful freshness that the dish really needed! the vego chilli con carne was amazing and packed full of flavour! the beans chosen too worked so well in the dish! A tiny bit more sour cream could have been nice as there was quite a lot of the other elements so there wasnt enough sour cream to go with the whole dish. The chips were nice and crunchy which is what you want! The drinks were both amazing and a stand out...
