"UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF"
Been here a few times but since Chur Thai has a new developed branch in CS, boyfriend and I still chose to be in Hillside. Most of the staff are unfamiliar to me unlike the ones that I have met before. When my boyfriend and I got our food, we usually say grace or do prayers first. While praying with closed eyes, one of the staff started talking to us and interrupted us from praying. She said, "Hi. How can I help you?" My boyfriend and I opened our eyes in surprised because this staff just interrupted us from praying. I said, "We are praying". She stood and look at me for a few seconds before she realised what I just said. Then she's like, "Okay okay".
When she left, I looked back and we saw her talking to one of the staff from the front desk. They were gossiping and looking at us, much worst, they were laughing. I honestly found this disgusting and unprofessional. I would've forgiven her for accidently intervening because she might've thought that we were calling her but we were not. However, the fact that she would laugh with the other staff is unbelievable.
Chur Thai, if you are going to hire someone or even your old staff, please educate them that we are in a diverse country with different backgrounds and different beliefs. And you guys should respect that.
Due to those 2 staff with disgusting attitude, I would never visit this...
Read moreSince I used to live very close to Chur Thai, I would come here frequently. The first time, I came with colleagues and ordered the set menu for four, which was truly impressive. It started with shrimp chips served with warm peanut sauce—an unexpected but delicious combination. The appetizers, like the fried spring rolls and pastries, were very tasty, especially the golden bag, filled with juicy meat and corn. For the main course, the standout was the fried barramundi salad, which had a perfect balance of sweet and sour flavors and a satisfying crunch. Other dishes like pad Thai, green curry, and moo yang BBQ weren’t exceptional but were reliably good. The meal ended with a hot drink and ice cream, making it a very satisfying experience.
Afterward, I became a regular visitor. For two people, I recommend the set menu for two; it’s great value and always more than enough, often requiring takeaway. The ambiance in the restaurant is nice too, with many families dining together on weekends. During the COVID period, I often ordered takeout, and the seasoning on the crying tiger salad was authentic, though I still recommend dining in for the...
Read moreVery disappointed with the service — this is the first bad review I’ve ever written. I visited this Thai restaurant around 9pm with my girlfriend. The restaurant wasn’t busy at that time, so we expected better service. After receiving our menus, we waited a long time for someone to take our order, but no one came. Eventually, my girlfriend had to go to the counter to place the order herself.
We ordered two meals and two Thai milk teas. The food arrived, but the drinks never came — even after we finished eating. During the meal, no staff checked on us or noticed the missing drinks.
When we went to pay, the two milk teas were still on the bill. After we mentioned it, the staff member just removed the items without saying a word or offering an apology.
This is honestly the first time I’ve ever felt the need to write a bad review. The lack of attention and basic customer care was really disappointing, especially when the restaurant wasn’t even busy. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves...
