I have tried the food from here couple of times, but I think it’s time to keep a full stop. Bought 2x Kochchi rice and 1x kochchi kottu. I don’t know in which world did they not understand the word “kochchi “. Very dry fried rice with huge pieces of chilli on the top of the rice. I think even my Aussie neighbour could have eat the normal rice. You should not cut the chilli and keep it on top of the food while packing. You supposed to prepare with the food. Please don’t insult the name “kochchi”. I m not gonna even start on customer service. Called 3 times and answered the 4th call around 11 am. I did ask for the Kochchi rice and the girl said after 3 pm. I said I will order in the afternoon and will be picking up at 3:45. When I called back they said that kochchi rice is available after 6:30 pm. She did argue with me saying that she mentioned about the right time. It’s very funny when I called from a work phone where calls being recorded. Here I am hoping for a Kochchi rice for lunch but had it for dinner and it’s not even “SPICY” Anyway, long story short:- first when a customer called please have some manners and advised the correct details. Read moreTheir ALL YOU CAN EAT takeaway is a total RIPOFF. We don’t get to choose multiple items and only get to select one item and one meat. It is as if we are getting a normal fried rice or a Nasi. And on top of that, they don’t giveaway the dessert as well. If they have double standards, they shouldn’t have given the ALL YOU CAN EAT option to takeaway. AND THEIR FRONT STAFF IS RUDE TO THE CUSTOMERS, GIVING ATTITUDES AS IF WE CAME TO EAT FREE.
------UPDATE------- First of all, I have no issue with the owner or any of the staff members at Cinnamon Gate. I gave an honest review of what I experienced during my visit. The owner has made a comment below that he has made an investigation and found out that the staff member felt threatened. Now why in the world would I threaten a staff member when I am paying for the foods. I would like to take this chance to inform the owner that you have not done your investigation right, and if you need further evidence, try checking your video tapes if they are available on Monday 24th June 2024 at 7.15pm and check what has happened. Read moreFood is tasty. However, the customer service is really bad now. I used to be a regular customer but no longer buy food from this shop. That is because of the bad customer service. I once bought their String Hoppers deal, and when I ordered it, the pork curry tray was almost empty. I ordered it thinking the staff serving the food would go to the kitchen and bring a new one, but one of the staff members (Chathuri—I found her name recently in a video, that’s why I’m mentioning it) scraped the tray, filled the container halfway, and charged me the full price. I also used to work in a Sri Lankan restaurant when I first came to Australia, and the owner lady always told us to charge half if we did not have enough food to fill the container. Anyway, another day I went there to buy food, and the same staff member (Chathuri) served me that day too. She barely filled the container and still charged me the full price.
