Wow! What a pleasant surprise!! La Bohemia Café is a small, Licenced Chilean Café/Restaurant. Hidden away in a far corner of the small, nondescript, Europa shopping centre it's easy to miss unless you look for it. It doesn't look like much but the food and service are amazing! Warm welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk in the door and there is outside seating as well. 3 of us had a mid week lunch here and the excellent food was way better than what we expected from a tiny hidden away little place. Very generous serves. Everything was excellent. Best Fried Empanadas I've had, both the Prawn and the Chorizo were generously filled and very tasty with a lovely crispy pastry. The Chorillana, a Chilean version of loaded fries and the small serve for $14 was huge, easily enough for a hungry persons main. The $28 large size must be massive. Chorizo, sliced marinated beef, grilled onions, a fried egg sunny side up, large amount of chips under and a zingy fresh home made Sofito sauce on the side. Great for sharing as we did. The "Sandwiches" are also massive, large, flat damper style buns toasted to a crispy crust and very generously filled. We shared the Churrasco Chacero (beef) and Bohemia Lomito (Pork). Each would easily be enough for a hungry adult. We washed it done with a couple of delicious South American beers from the small range in their fridge. Yummmmmm! Staff were great and we heard them speaking Spanish to many of the other diners, so obviously a local favourite as they were nearly full for a midweek lunch. They are only open 4 days a week, lunches on Wednesday and Thursday, and lunch through to 8:30pm on Friday and Saturday's. Heaps of free parking in the shopping...

I have a Chilean friend who took me out for lunch at La Bohemian , i was so impressed! Greeted by very friendly server, he brought us a bottle of water and glasses. Gave us menu's 😀. I have never seen a Chilean menu before, but each dish was described in detail, ingredients etc... I had there Blue Grenadier, with Rice, Chilean salad and a wonderful little dish of a Chilean style salsa/sauce. It was a huge piece of fish, a lot of restaurants would have cut. It in half( ps I've been in hospitality for many years and have seen this done) I would love to get hold of there recipe for there batter!! Yummy! Crispy light tasty, the fish was to die for! Soft flaky, cooked to perfection!

A very small restaurant, obviously family run! Beautiful art work on the wall ( murals) Excellent drink menu! I had the tap beer ( I think it was called Bojack) could be wrong with the name?) I had a pint and would now like to find out where to buy it for home, delicious! We enjoyed our visit so much, when another friend asked us both out for lunch, we recommended 'La Bohemia ' Only 3 days later 🤣 We were back, again fabulous experience good old fashioned service, great food, ps.. I had to have that fish again!!!!!! My friend had the seafood soup, he didn't realise it had coriander in it, but he ate every drop and said it was the first time he ever enjoyed a dish with coriander! HIGHLY RECOMMEND A...

La Bohemia Cafe is a hidden gem serving up authentic Chilean cuisine with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. My partner and I have frequented over the past 4 years and always left very happy.

The pastel de choclo is absolutely superb, a savory and comforting dish that perfectly captured the flavors of Chile. The Pescadore sandwich was also a standout, packed with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor (My #1 choice).

A side of chips with homemade salsa is the perfect accompaniment to your meal, and we often can't resist indulging in a slice of pineapple cake or Tres leches for dessert.

To top it all off, La Bohemia Cafe boasts an impressive selection of Chilean wines and beers, as well as locally brewed beers on tap (From Bojak Brewery Dandenong). Their coffee is also top-notch, expertly brewed and incredibly smooth.

If you're looking for a taste of authentic Chilean cuisine in a warm and inviting setting, I highly recommend La Bohemia Cafe.

The only reason the review isn't a 5: occasionally the service can be quite slow and erratic. Especially when...

La Bohemia is a lovely, intimate cafe with a menu full of delightful Chilean dishes. We, of course, could not go without starting off with a Pisco Sour cocktail. It was the first time I had had one and it was so so good!! We shared Sopaipillas, which is fried pumpkin bread with a salsa. I had the prawn and cheese Empanada, and my friend had the Bohemia Lamito, which is a pork sandwhich. I got a couple of desserts to take home as I was nice and full from dinner and really wanted to make sure I had room to enjoy it! I can't remember what one of the desserte were. It was round with like a thin pastry biscuit sandwhich filled with caramel and coated in icing sugar! It was so yum!!! The other dessert i ordered was the pineapple cake, now OMG! I swear that it was the most delicious tasting cake i have EVER eaten!!!!!!!!!!! Service was great, and food came out in a very good amount of time! Best to book a table and get your butt there! You can thank me later!

Chilean food brought me back to the sweetest memories of my early years living in a home-stay in Australia. I had a beautiful, vibrant Chilean roommate who felt like a sister to me. Even though I knew where she was from, I never had the chance to try Chilean food while we lived together. Curious about what my friend might have eaten in her daily life, I searched online and found La Bohemia Café, so my partner and I decided to give it a try. We ordered four dishes: Sopaipillas (fried pumpkin bread with salsa), Sopa de mariscos (seafood soup with bread), Empanada, and Pastel de Choclo. We enjoyed every bite of these Chilean dishes, and it made me feel like my friend was right there with me, sharing the experience. In the end, the meal not only satisfied my curiosity but also brought me closer to the culture of a dear friend, reminding me of how food has the power to connect us to people and places we cherish.
