Clayton & Me — Restaurant in Melbourne

This cafe is pretty good but I wouldn’t say the greatest in the area. Some positives are that it’s a nice relaxed atmosphere, plenty of seating indoors and out the back as well. It’s family friendly for anyone with young kids too. Staff are friendly and greet you with a warm smile. The coffee is really decent and the star of the cafe. I absolutely recommend just going for the coffee or a drink. I tried their lunch menu and would describe the food overall as mediocre. The food came out lukewarm which is never a great start unless you ordered something cool. The serving sizes were generous which I will give. Other than this though the club sandwich lacked flavour, the chips were just not great/almost cold and overall I sensed that the ingredients used weren’t the freshest. This is one of those long narrow cafes that’s a former shop. The cafe has nice street appeal and is pleasant at the front. There’s a large back area too. It’s a pleasant if slightly minimalist, almost sombre fit with a predominant light grey blue hue. It’s soft and easy on the eye but unlikely to excite or inspire. The wall art and greenery is fairly low key too, albeit with a couple of really cute wall murals out back. It’s a close thing but it works.

I was just visiting for a coffee this morning. It’s a nice brew here. Ably made and up there with the best. Service was very good here too. The servers were right up and about. Pleasant, attentive and very efficient. I didn’t try any food today but the menu looked pretty good to me.

I got a take away coffee from here. My strong skinny latte was alright but once again sooo feekin hot!!!

The cup was too hot to hold and you could forget about drinking it.

Jan 2019 Called in here for a coffee. The service was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to eat so it was just a quick t/a coffee.

This cafe is air conditioned so it was a great escape from the 43c in Melbourne today... phew!

My strong skinny latte was excellent except it was really hot. But the flavour of the coffee was excellent, and the barista filled my cup only 3/4 full which was perfect! Thank you :)
