I did not have a good experience here tonight at all.
My partner ordered a medium rib eye steak and what she received was pink all the way through.
I ordered a Caesar salad and it was the most disappointing Caesar I have ever had. There was far too much lettuce, the croutons tasted like they were just out of a packet, there was hardly any cheese or dressing and they forgot the anchovies. I hailed a server and had to convince her that a Caesar salad is meant to have anchovies. She brought back my plate with a small container of anchovies. I gave up on the dish; it just didn't taste nice.
My daughter enjoyed her gnocchi though.
I explained to the next server that we were unhappy with two of our meals and why. I sent back a full bowl of Caesar salad. I am a big guy and love my food - it is rare for me to do that.
We decided to give them another go and asked for a desert menu. Perhaps time passes more slowly when you are feeling off-put, but I swear it took fifteen minutes before we got a menu and another fifteen before they came back to take another order. This time the server (a different person) was so unfamiliar with their own menu they didn't know what Gelato flavours they had and needed to go back and check when we explained that what she was listing were not Gelato flavours.
We gave up at that point and left. We were given an apology and half price off the rib eye, which was better than nothing but frankly I was not expecting to pay for the salad at all.
Overall, the ambiance of the restaurant is nice and it was a cozy and warm place on a cold rainy night, but I found the service and food extremely deficient and over-priced given the experience I...
Read moreWent in the Saturday of the long weekend, no booking and they were probably one third full. Stood and waited to be offered a table no one approached us. I then approached a waitress that saw me and she ignored me and kept walking. I then approached a male dressed in black who appeared to be a manager of some descriotion and asked for a table. He pointed to the lady at the register and all he said was 'she'll look after you' and walked off. waited another minute or so and a young waiter approached and asked if we wanted a table. He took us to one and left, a waitress came up and put some cutlery down and asked if we wanted a drink. She put down a bottle of water but no glasses so we asked for them five minutes later. My wife ordered the Chilli Prawns and I ordered the ribs. My wife had a wine and the Corona I ordered came out warm. I informed the waitress who had no real idea about what to do so she brought out a beer glass with ice as all the Coronas were the same temperature. So while I was having my beer on the rocks another waitress came out and told me there was no ribs they had run out ( At 6pm on the Saturday of the labour day weekend?!?) So I had the chilli prawns as well. There was around 8 prawns which were clearly not fresh but frozen from a packet. Having said that they weren't bad but nowhere near $28 worth. We were never offered a second drink and basically couldn't get out of there quick enough. We wont be going back which is a shame because it has good potential let down by the poor service which I tend to think comes...
Read moreWould give 0 stars if I could. My partner and I had the most disgusting experience on Mother’s day with our family. Not only did half our table receive their food a half hour after the other half had finished eating, plus the constant mess ups with orders between tables and dirty dishware - my partner ordered the rib eye steak and it smelt, looked and tasted off. He had one small bite, then me and his friend tried a piece to see if he was overreacting in saying it was inedible, and completely off, he was not. It was disgusting. We are quiet people and do not like to complain, but the rest of our party insisted he should politely tell them that he is concerned about the quality of the meat. The manager, owner and chef had an absolute sook and made a massive scene about how he is trying to take advantage of them because he ‘ate half of it’. The ‘new owner’ had the most horrific, high school bully attitude, making faces and rude comments and insults to my partner when he was trying to explain and diffuse the situation. They did not let him leave without paying for the steak that he had one bite of, and had the whole staff arguing over what percent he should be paying. The young waiters were lovely and constantly apologising for the senior staffs behaviour. As she was very young, I hope the owner reflects on her mean girl attitude and learns to take...
