A really good place. It’s essentially a terrific no frills, good food, good value workers’ cafe. It serves meals, it serves snacks. It’s the perfect hipster antidote to what you get in nearby Northcote and Thornbury.
It’s astonishing value. The big breakfast was $15 only, and that’s with a nice coffee thrown in. Big is exactly what this meal is - two eggs, sausage, tomato, mushroom, three rashers of bacon, a hash brown, baked beans, spinach with seeded toast. It was huge and totally unfancy but also importantly, totally delicious. Prices are similarly low across the board here for a good range of meals and snacks, with what typically looked like good, fresh plainly presented food.
