Absolutely disappointing – nothing like what it used to be.

I recently ordered the Chicken 65 Biryani from this place, hoping for the same delicious meal I had a couple of weeks ago via Uber Eats. Sadly, what I received was completely different – it tasted more like a salty chicken soya sauce curry thrown over rice than anything resembling a proper Chicken 65 Biryani.

The lack of consistency is shocking. One week it’s great, and the next it’s barely edible. The dish was far too salty, poorly made, and clearly thrown together without care or attention to flavour. For the price they charge, this is just not good enough.

There’s no pride in what’s being served anymore, and it shows. I won’t be going back – and I genuinely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values good food or their money. There are far better options out there. Avoid the disappointment.

2nd review - Extremely disappointed. I’ve called Dosa Hut Footscray’s mobile number (0400 093 858) a couple of times, but no one answered and there has been no follow-up.

It’s frustrating to keep receiving generic responses like “we take this matter seriously” when there’s no meaningful action taken. Please don’t waste people’s time or money if you’re not ready to provide even basic customer service.

As a paying customer, I feel ignored and disrespected. From my experience, it feels like the focus is more on reputation management than actually resolving genuine concerns.

I would prefer your response and resolution to be posted here, as I now have trust issues and don’t feel comfortable continuing this discussion privately.

WOW!!! Our tastebuds were blown away when we attended Dosa Hut Footscray and had a sumptuous Indian feast on two separate occasions recently. My family and myself have been avid eaters of Indian food for quite a few decades so have been to many Indian restaurants. Not many of them of them have resonated with us service wise, taste wise, size of serve wise or cost wise as Dosa Hut Footscray did! Professionally welcoming and caring staff who gave us prompt and present service throughout our meal; absolutely delicious food with very generous quantities and the pricing is surprisingly low in regard to what we were provided with. If you’re a connoisseur of Indian food you must give this restaurant a go, you won’t be let down!!! If you’re new to Indian food, Dosa Hut Footscray is where you will find authentic and great serves of quality Indian food at a very reasonable price. Our favourites are the Samosa Chaat; Goat Karachi, Gongura Mutton Curry, Dosa Hut special chicken curry, all with paratha or rice; Goat Biryani, Chicken Ghee Roast Biryani, Pachimirchi Chicken Biryani, Fried Chicken Biryani and Chicken Dum Biryani. I have been going to Dosa footscray for the last 10-11 years, this review is for the new owners(was told by 1 employee). I live in Craigeburn, we have a dosahut here too, but I personally always prefer to go to footscray one because of the quality and more authentic taste. I visited yesterday, and I was so disappointed with the taste of food I was served, there was only one guy on the floor who was managing the register, he was the only one taking order from tables, cleaning the tables, and at the end he was the one who was sweeping and doing the mop and most disappointing was he served us with the same unwashed hands. The instructions I gave him about the food were completely oposite to what I told him when he repeated the order, I asked him spicy biryani, he repeated medium, I requested him crispy chicken in schezuan rice and noodles and he's repeating soft, I was like did u even listen to my instructions or not? And because he was doing all these tasks all alone, the food we were served was very light warm whereas it has never been served like that. This time the taste was very average too. As your loyal customer I always expect the same quality and taste regardless. I can understand the businesses are not really busy now adays and u are trying to save up a little not hiring much staff, but I think your customers should not suffer because of this because we are paying you full prices for each item we order, infact we as a customer pay 2-4$ extra on every item.
