Dumpling Collective 和丰园 — Restaurant in Melbourne

We literally accidentally fell into this place! We had the pork and prawns dumplings both pan-fried and steamed, xiao long bao, honey king prawns and fried green beans. Everything was exactly how it should be! The dumplings were perfect - the skins are thick and juicy the way northern dumplings should be. Xiao long bao also perfect. And the sauces were exactly right - as we told them not too hot. Initially I was afraid that the honey prawns might be too sweet like how some restaurants might cook them, but they were just right! Enough for my sweet tooth but not enough to drawn me! I love green beans so I would have been crossed if they were not done well but again they were good. Just enough oil, salt and a tinge of chilli. I had to stop myself from finishing the dish so I could have some leftovers to doggy-bag for my exam-studying son. This will not be the last time we visit this restaurant...maybe takeaway for now for a little...

This restaurant and the waiter ARE DISRESPECTFUL to the DELIVERY DRIVER and CUSTOMER !!!

Saturday 24/07/2023 at 6:20PM, I had dinner at this restaurant and observed all the conversation of the waiter and the delivery man.

The waiter have a TERRIBLE, SARCASTIC, DISRESPECTFUL attitude towards the delivery person. I heard that an order has been placed from a customer since 5:30PM, but the delivery man had to wait for them until 6h45PM , it took more than 1 hour!! In the mean time, the waiter kept forced the delivery man to cancel the order, said in a very awful and disrespectful way to the delivery man. The waiter intentionally ignored this order, and prioritize other orders, then leave this delivery man waiting until they want to prepare the food even the customer called them. The food is also not really good, but this staff's attitude is too disrespectful so I recommend you guys not to come...

This is my second time at dumpling collective and after a horrible experience the first time we decided to try it again. Once again we were sadly greeted by some of the worst customer service possible. They seem to be rationing there soy sauce and Chilli sauce as I had to ask about 7 times to get either sauce. The food was cold and flavourless and it was very very slow coming out There was no fluidity to the dinner with entrees or mains or anything it was simply a debacle.
