Semi local bakery to me that I hadn't been to since the kids stopped catching the bus. Set in a local shopping area there is ample parking each time you come by. Today we decided to buy some rolls and to try out the pies. Service was quick and very friendly. Rolls were just how you want fresh bread to be. Crusty on the outside but fluffy and soft on the inside. Our pies were the steak and bacon, chicken & mushrooms and a steak and chilli ( I think?). Pastry was divine. Filling was tasty and you could tell the ingredients used were good quality. No gristly bits that you often find with some pies! Definitely will return and try more!

An unsuspecting bakery with all of the things you expect The Steak and Pepper pie won an award for a reason - it was delicious! Lots of other pastries to choose from too, we will definitely be back. Heads up there is no seating here, so plan to take your pies away to enjoy.

Seriously good pies. Crust is thin and flaky, fillings are generous and moist. Had the Steak Pie and Spinach Roll. Sells out v fast so come early.

I went to buy 2 chicken sandwiches and was absolutely disgusted at the tiny serving of chicken that was in it. The lady serving told me the chicken was very expensive, but honestly, it was ridiculous. We paid $10 for the sandwiches. Never will I go back there again. Such a rip off. There are so many other bakeries in monbulk, that actually make decent sandwiches. , not just bread with a tiny bit of chicken and heaps of lettuce. You should be disgusted to rip off your...

We lived in Monbulk back in 2008/9 and this was our favourite bakery. Their bakewell tarts were a legend, and since we are now living in New Zealand I would give anything to know how they made them. Since their baker was getting all kinds of awards at the time he probably wouldn't divulge. More power to him! Pies wonderful, coffee fantastic, next time we go back to Melbourne, we will take a trip out to get those bakewells...
