The brunch game at Fergus is strong. The team here has everything down pat – charming service, excellent food and outstanding coffee. With a cute and cosy courtyard, you’ll be hard-pressed not to enjoy your experience here.
The Shakshuka is a must order here. Hearty, rich and especially comforting for the colder days ahead. Plenty of chorizo and lamb rosemary sausage makes this an incredibly filling dish, and the piquant sauce is just divine. The lime yoghurt balances out this heavy dish with a subtle citrusy tang, and you’ll find yourself lapping up every last bit of the sauce.
The Club Sandwich aims to please. Layers upon layers of fresh and tasty fillings, and the combination of Dijon mustard and tomato relish gave this sanga a sharp and sweet kick. The hot and crunchy chips keeps you coming back for more, and provides a good contrast to the soft and juicy sanga.
Simple but effective is the French Toast. Soft and fluffy bread, crushed pistachio, poached pears, mascarpone and maple syrup makes for a wonderful combination of taste and texture. Nutty, with a touch of caramelised sweetness, and so moreish.
The Fergus Benedict and Pulled Pork Tacos got the thumbs up from my friends, as did the fantastic coffees. A faultless experience from...
Read moreHi. I walked past this morning 3/09/22 with my dog, the gentleman at the front counter saw me but didn’t come out and say if you were dog friendly or not or if I could sit out the front, made eye contact but no friendly smile like the usual locally owned cafes.
Being ever so hungry, I took my dog home, and thought I would go and try out Furgus and dine in by myself. When returning, two of the three staff looked at me as I walked in and two looked but no greeting or anything like that. Then a staff member asked if I was wanting to eat inside or outside. I said I wanted to eat in. Wanting a friendly cafe to venture to being a new local. I found yours to look friendly and funky, but your staff are rude, and have no customer service experience from what I saw. Usually a friendly smile is a great approach. Sadly I won’t be back. If I want attitude like that I go shopping at Chadstone, at lest they make eye contact...
Read moreLovely scrambled eggs although a little heavy with the olive oil on the grilled tomato & spinach. GF toast was as crispy as croutons but tasted nice with lots of poppy seeds. Would be nice to see some spelt bread or other wheat free products that are specifically FODMAP friendly, but then that can be said of most of Melbourne cafe’s. Staff great, coffee as ordered and very enjoyable. Pleasant environment but tables are close together so not much opportunity for a private conversation. As someone with lots of food intolerances I’d say it’s not too bad and I’d eat there again. I’d ask for less...
