Taco Bill - Malvern East — Restaurant in Melbourne

My family has been coming to this restaurant for 6 years but after tonight we will look for another place to enjoy Mexican. We ordered our meals asking that the temperature of the meals be hot, my husband and I returned our meals as they were just warm in the middle but hot on the edge of the plate. The plates were very hot, and the meals were uneatable. The staff returned the meals to the kitchen to be microwaved and returned to us, we heard the microwave's ding and then our meals returned to the table, disgusting not freshly prepared new meals just microwaved the meals we returned. My husband's meal was seafood so after such disrespect for that produce it was also not safe to consume uncooked prawns and scallops. My husband ate the rice and the side salad we ordered, by the way the side salad was very fresh the high light of the meal. If the meal was as hot as the plate it came out on the meals would have been great, try getting your food temperature right, I would rather have hot food that an extremally hot plate. When paying the bill and letting the staff member know how disappointed we were the care factor was zero, very poor customer service at its best. Booked online and ate here last night. This is classic Taco Bill Mexican fare - essentially unchanged from the 1970s when I first used to come here as a Uni student - and it is still great. Why change? The food was well priced, tasty and all the classic fare. Staff were friendly and attentive.

A casual atmosphere that is not pretentious - just a good place for a family or group of friends to have a meal. The young guys near us having big Margharita slushies in their Mexican hats were having a ball. Just the same as the family and small groups of couples around us.

If you want something really fancy go elsewhere. If you want hearty food, not too expensive and a relaxed environment, this place is consistent.

I still love crispy Tacos with the slow cooked pulled beef. Just yummo compared to all the 'modern' Mexican themed fair and soft taco offerings elsewhere. Ice cream Nachos was an interesting and tasty desert. My only issue was them running out of the super hot chilli and...

My Mexican loving friend is back in Melbourne after one year of living overseas so we continued tradition with a visit to Taco Bill.

The staff were supremely friendly and the decor gave it that Tex Mex vibe. I enjoyed the usual staples, large nachos to share and serves of both the chicken and beef flautas

Update There are some terrible reviews on here but we enjoyed our dinner. You have to understand TB is clearly directed at a certain type of clientele that doesn’t necessarily expect fresh authentic Mexican food and as long as you are okay with that you can enjoy it for what it is, a casual fuss free meal.

Original review They had jazzed up the menu since our last dinner and I noticed with despair my go to order had disappeared from the options but the waitress advised they had all the ingredients and would still be able to make it so I was as pleased as Mexican punch.
