Definitely the place to go for challah, bagels are pretty good too. Of all the different challah makers out there (and there are many), these are in my opinion the best. Soft, fluffy, good balance of sweet and bready, not too sweet and it doesn't fall apart. You can also buy it from the supermarket (Woolworths but not Coles as Coles apparently cares more about price than quality) but the fresh stuff in store is my preference when I'm not feeling lazy. The service can be a bit variable and definitely breaks down during the big rushes but that's somewhat understandable. The other food is a mixed bag. The bagels are very good (not the best I've ever had, but close) but some of their other pastries are downright terrible. I recently got some hamantashen (festive filled pastry triangles) and they were just appalling. The poppyseed mixture was the worst I've ever had. It looked anaemic, was very dry and flavourless. Also, the filling-to-pastry was way off on the stringy side.

Glicks Caulfield South is a popular place around high noon on a Friday. The queue was out the door. Wait time wasn't too long as the ladies behind the counter dealt with the flow quite well. Lots of items to choose from other than loaves of bread. I saw cakes, pastries, donuts, bagels and of all things, crumbed fish pieces! This place was a cafe before or could be made into one. The tables are set up for it. So no coffee and donuts - only donuts

The best bagels in the Eastern suburbs! Love their cinnamon raisin bagels- delicious. There have a huge variety of other cakes and breads, all baked on-site. It’s a very popular store so you may have to queue but it’s well worth the wait. There are tables/ seating at the back of the shop if you wanted to eat in. Super-friendly service. Highly recommend.

One of the best bagel shops in Melbourne.

They make the softer, Middle Eastern-style, rather than the firmer, New York-style bagels. The flavour and texture of their bagels is amazing, especially their onion bagels.

There's simply no place like them to get a bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese, red onion, and capers.

As an added bonus, this shop doesn't get as busy as the ones in Caulfield and the City.

Shop keepers are super friendly, warm and accommodating, and the cosy atmosphere is great on a rainy day to sit and enjoy a bagel and dessert. The desserts I've tried are very nice as well, not cloyingly sweet, nicely balanced...

I had the most amazing experience today. I needed donuts for my daughter to take to school and I had ordered them yesterday. They had not arrived on time however Chinmay who works there went out of his way to ensure I had all the donuts for her. He made sure the delivery driver got extras from other stores to fulfill our order which resulted in a very happy child. An absolute power team this morning and I am so thankful to both staff who went above and beyond to help. Fantastic...
