Gold Receptions — Restaurant in Melbourne

Ordered through Uber eats, food so far has been great, however the most recent delivery was a disappointment, the main meals were seriously lacking in substantial protein, they were mostly sauce and very little of anything else. Sauce was delicious, had to add my own chicken, koftas and paneer to make up for what was lacking. For the cost, the meal was primarily very expensive sauces. Hopefully will be more satisfying next time.

I love Indian food so the name Bellino confused me as I thought it was Italian and perhaps I had the wrong place. When you walk in it's obvious you could throw some great parties here, very large open space, a banquet hall in fact. My thinking was a) when you're just open as a restaurant set up some screens on one side to make the space smaller and more intimate, b) the large windows are also a reminder of where you are, maybe some colourful window shades or dressings to block the view of the outside world for a while to create a more cultural, warm atmosphere so your customers can forget they're in Carrum Downs, at least for a little while. To me everything about India is colourful, the people, the clothes, the food, the music so why not celebrate these wonderful qualities. A chat with Goldy (the owner) revealed in the weeks to come there will be a strong focus on traditional Indian music from all regions will be playing in the background as well as some live music and perhaps a few cultural surprises, maybe some Bollywood music and dancing, fingers crossed. The staff were very friendly, lots of smiles and very helpful, the food was delicious, plenty of traditional dishes cooked to perfection, although would have loved to have seen up to 3 choices perhaps of desserts, Indian sweets are to die for. If you are looking this place for venue, I must admit it's not the best place. Though it has the biggest hall to accommodate lot of people but staffing has some serious safety issues. Client who booked the venue while exiting dropped couple of bottles and there were all glasses and liquor on the floor. None of the staff bothered to clean or at least remove the broken glasses Because the cleaning staff was due to come next morning. I politely requested the staff atleast make some way so that kids can leave the place safely. I had the full sound and lights gear to load back to my van. What one of the boys told they can't do much because cleaners are coming next day. As I was back to back DJing for 5 hrs I told the staff I could not have my dinner and he promised that he will pack food for me . When I asked where is the parcel , he made some funny comments about now you have to eat in my house. Then there friend came who claimed that he is dholi and he is suppose to take all the staff to a disco club so all staff took all my speakers and lights and kept it on the road and switched off all lights and left because they were late. Also the dholi was abusive and using foul languages. I don't know what was the role of the dholi but with this small issues Owners get blamed. We had our son's first bday party at Bellino last Saturday. Party hall is very big and well looked after. Everyone at the party enjoyed their time and complimented about the quality of food served. All the dishes were spot on. However two standout dishes were Amritsari fish and paneer butter masala for me.

In addition to this, the bday cake was baked by the owner of this restaurant and it was one of the best cake I ever had and all of our guests agreed on the quality of the cake (highly recommend for anyone organising their parties to order cake from the restaurant owner).

Having said all that there is still a room for improvement as this place has a potential to be one of the best place for parties and general dining in southeast Melbourne. In the end I would say that we thoroughly enjoyed our party and would like to thank cooking and waiting staff for...
