FOOD was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! MASALA TEA was beautiful! (Even if it wasn’t what I ordered). SERVICE WAS BAD! From the moment I walked in and sat down NOONE would even make eye contact! if you GO… THERE’S NO SIGNAGE to tell you to SIT or ORDER at the counter!! I genuinely felt unwelcome and after sitting for what seemed like an eternity I had to ask another patron if it was table service or counter order as none of the workers would even acknowledge I was in their restaurant. Turns out it was counter order! The woman behind the counter could NOT have been less helpful to where I was about to say just forget it and walk out! But the smell of that amazing food kept me there. Food came pretty quick and GREATLY PRICED But when I asked one of the hostesses about the ‘plain tea’ they forgot she asked “OH, YOU WANT IT NOW” like maybe it’s a drink you have as you LEAVE! (while I’m eating in your restaurant would be a good time I’m thinking). Maybe it’s a cultural thing and THAT is something I need to learn at these places, the lack of service is just part of the FUN experience. ONLY TWO OTHER TABLES with people so it’s not like it was busy and stressful! GO for the AMAZING FOOD and definitely NOT for the service! You’ve been warned! I DEFINITELY WON’T be going BACK! And I’m guessing THATS the end result they WANT! DON’T WORRY GUYS I got YOUR ‘MESSAGE’ LOUD AND CLEAR!!

I had a great experience at Sabari Saravana Bhavan. The food was authentic, fresh, and full of flavor—just like traditional South Indian home-style cooking. The dosa was perfectly crisp, the sambhar and chutneys were rich and tasty, and the service was warm and welcoming. The staff were attentive and made sure everything was served quickly. The restaurant had a clean and comfortable atmosphere, perfect for both family dining and casual meals. Prices were also very reasonable for the quality and quantity provided. Highly recommend Sabari Saravana Bhavan if you’re looking for genuine South Indian vegetarian food!

Was feeling like authentic Tamilnadu chicken kuttu porotta and saw this restaurant before driving through to Siva Temple Carrum Downs VIC. Came in to counter Anishma who was friendly showed the menu stick on the counter to choose and I asked to make it medium spicy. Kavya brought the food came in steel plate I liked it coz they transmit less germs our ancestors were really smart 🙂.... so the food was really yummy felt like a hotel in my home town Chidambram Tamilnadu.... Best part drinking water is free 💪 Good Job 👌

I enjoyed the buffet today and I was very impressed with the quality of the food served for the buffet. There was a variety of South and North Indian dishes was truly remarkable, offering to please everyone in both north and south indian cuisine. Everything tasted awesome, fresh and authentic, with rich flavors of North and South Indian cuisines. I strongly recommend this buffet to anyone who is after a delicious and diverse South and North Indian dining experience. I was expecting pretty much side dishes and roti they went behind my expectation the plain dosa was unlimited so was rotis. The vegetarian menu of sambar, mixed vegatables gravy, kadai paneer, gobi 65, medu vada, veg biryani was awesome and very tasty cannot complain at all. The staff were very courteous the place was clean and tidy with good ambience. Some dishes ran out in the buffet and the staff quickly refilled it.

I think the biggest problem with this place is they lack advertisement or marketing. I have been eating when I come to the temple at the temple canteen the food is lousy in the temple canteen it is not value for money and expensive bad ambience, massive crowds and place is quite dirty. Similarly, I tried for a change at Vel's the food is terrible no value for money.

For a change I went to Sabari Saravana Bhavan I was pleasantly surprised I think it was a real good value for money I definitely recommend Sabari Saravana bhavan.

The only two good restaurants around the temple is Sabari Saravana Bhavan and Gold Sweets but what I loved with Sabari saravana bhavan is the buffet it enables us to savour something of all cuisines.

I hope every weekend they will have different varieties like Palak Paneer, masala vada I would suggest they should offer coconut chutney as well. But I was very happy with what was offered today will definitely go back. I suggest the management to keep up the good quality food they are offering with a good...

I usually don't like to post a bad review but I thought an honest feedback goes a long way, if taken in the right way. We have enjoyed our meals at this place for few years and as usual we had dinner today after visit to the temple. I honestly don't know what to say first as we had a real disgusting experience. Firstly, we were greeted warmly by the owner and we were lucky to find a table. We had to wait for a quite sometime until we had our turn to pay for the buffet. I asked one of the staff members if there is non-veg buffet to which she said yes. She seemed least interested, working just because probably needs to work. After at least 15 mins in the queue we filled the tiny plates with veg-only buffet. So clearly the female staff member was delusional about non-veg buffet. We had to get up and get water and spoons ourselves because the table was not properly attended. When we quickly ran out of our initial serving, we had to queue up and wait another 20 mins to get a refill. In those 20 mins, I saw people getting frustrated, couples fighting with each other for choosing to eat here, people angrily leaving with having enough of the endless waiting business, the worst was seeing an elderly couple give up and walk out without eating properly. All this time the owner was busy greeting people, getting them inside the door but little effort was done to look after people standing in the queues. Then we had a nature's call and there was a 15 min wait at the queue outside the toilet. One would say it was a busy day due to new years eve. But the reality is, one should not bite off more than they can chew. Although the food is pretty decent, I saw people walk out of the door who may never return again. If you can't manage, don't spoil people's new years and hard earned money. If you can manage, please do something about poor management and lack of customer service. All in all, pretty messed up start to...
