Heard really great things about this place so was excited to check this cafe out. The decor is gorgeous and really Instagrammable, the staff seemed friendly and kind.
When it came to ordering the service staff was absolutely lovely and accommodating to our order for the table. The food came out in an reasonable time for the kids and my friends but they were very busy, as mentioned by the manager or the person running the floor ( I assume) they said they were understaffed. My friends and kids had positive reviews with their food and drinks once came out.
I myself waited a while for my sweet dish to come which takes a bit longer as it’s made fresh but i was given the wrong meal. I was super confused as I ordered a Lotus Biscoff French Toast and received a Croissant with eggs. I mentioned something and was given a confused look like I stuffed up the order no it’s what you ordered my reply “but it’s not sweet and it has eggs in it “ so they took it away and I waited ages again for my meal. Everyone had finished their meals and we had to mention something if they could follow up about the meal. I reckon from ordering to getting my meal it was close to an hour.
Finally it came out and looked amazing as you can see in the photo, I finally received an apology which I was happy to get but wish I got one earlier or an update. It’s happened before previously elsewhere to me a few times and I’ve had wait staff or management apologise profusely as they either forgot or somethings gone wrong in the kitchen, but they will communicate and be upfront. Which I can’t fault other cafes/restaurants for or the have given a discount for the inconvenience.
Food itself was lovely but I was a little put off by the service, I can see by other reviews they do have lovely staff but service can be hit and miss. Especially when they are busy so hopefully they can improve on those areas which I know they were understaffed today but communication to your customers is very welcomed.
But if your after a sweet Instagram pretty decor place and don’t mind...
Read moreI've probably walked or trammed past this cafe without noticing but walking in one is presented with a unique venue full of greenery and white which makes it bright and airy. I chose the chicken pesto with squid ink pasta. Immersed in chilli oil, after awhile I was sweating but the heat makes the dish delicious with the well cooked squid ink pasta and chicken chunks, melted cheese and juicy mushrooms. Tasty meal, they have an all day menu and a range of coffee items as well. Certainly must pop in for breakfast.
Breakfast @GroundsOfEden for Prawn Benedict: panko crumbed prawns atop a croissant with dressed kale, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce.
First I started off with a delicious taro latte. Had just the right amount of sweetness, smooth, flavoursome, and just the cuppa to warm you up.
The Prawn Benedict is fantastic! Three juicy fat tender prawns, crispy on the outside, nice crunch and really delicious. Then there's the perfectly cooked oozing poached eggs with an excellent Hollandaise sauce that has the right touch of lemon to counteract the creaminess of the sauce, the citrus tang is perfect and compliments the eggs and kale. The croissant seemed a little odd but given the prawns, a light croissant as a vehicle is preferred over the heavier bread or English muffins.
Dad had the Eden Big Breakfast which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Read moreWarning: not only was my experience at this cafe thoroughly unsatisfactory but my honest review and feedback has been flagged/hidden somehow which is a deeply disturbing practice and should make every reader distrustful of any Google review score. Here is my review that I stand by and have kept the re eipt for: Awful. Fritters and soft shell crab were burnt to a crisp, korean style burger was as bland as a KFC zinger (but 4 times the price) and the taro latte was undrinkable. We complained to our waiter that the meal was inedible but were still forced to pay for everything we had ordered which is a reprehensible business decision and indicates that they don't care about ever getting repeat customers. They also charge 2% for card transactions on top of their ridiculous prices and this is unfortunately becoming standard practice for many Melbourne cafes. Customers need to rally against this insidious practice as they are allowing themselves to be ripped off. We already pay over the odds to eat out in Australia and pay 10% GST on top. Any card fee should be absorbed by the business that already charges exorbitant prices. Why should customers in Australia be paying to use a card when bank ATMs and branches are closing across the country and we are being informed we are leading the way to becoming a cashless society ? We are then charged for using that card and accept it so we are just allowing big banks and business...
