My friend and I walked into guilty bite after having dinner at the nearby restaurant I spice and the guy at the front counter asked if we wanted to eat in or takeaway we said eat in and he told us to take a menu and sit down and come up when we were ready to order . We didn’t realize that you closed at 9:30 pm on a Saturday nor did the guy give us the heads up when we walked in and say “ just letting you know we close in 40mins ( don’t know exactly when we got there may have between 35 - 50mins) so if you want to order please do soon NOR when he saw we were sitting there talking say to us “ sorry we are close to closing do ladies want anything “NOTHING zero communication. We only found out when I went to order that he said we are actually closed. This to me is very very poor customer service and is not acceptable. All he had to do is communicate and we would have either hurried up and ordered or politely said thanks for letting us know and found somewhere else to go . This is the second time that we have been to your cafe at night same guy on the first occasion looked like he didn’t want to be there no hello, no smile just what can I get you . I get it working in customer service and hospitality is not a glam job I have worked both face to face and over the phone for 30 plus years and still do this guy is representing your business while you the manager are not there and if this is how he is running your business then you really need to look at the people you are employing . I don’t normally complain but this needs to be said . Do what you want with this information at the end of the day it’s your small business and if you want to employ lack lustre staff then that’s your choice but I will not be recommending your business to anyone in fact if someone was to ask I would discourage them . Read moreTerrible pathetic service. Went to have a dine in and Ordered 2 deserts and got them in take away boxes. Then the waitress said that it was a miscommunication and asked us if it’s ok to eat it on the the take away box we said wanted them on proper plates, then the waitress said it will be bit messy as they will put the same on take away box to the plate. ( such a bad service- didn’t even try to correct the mistake) since it was crowded we also said ok to have the same thing on take way box to the the plate. We Went with a baby and sat on the corner table, the waitress who made coffee came and told us that we have to sit in one table( 4 people in 1 table) and to move the other table. Such a racist rude woman. There were plenty of people who were seated on 2 tables and the waitress didn’t utter a word.
I would never recommend this place totally unacceptable behaviour. Hope the management will take appropriate actions on the staff. Also when I asked for a refund the waitress very rudely said that they are putting the desert to a plate and within seconds we get the take away box. ( ordered two sticky date puddings) Staff should be properly trained to serve and treat customers. The customers who were waiting to pay understood our situation and were very helpful.
Also noticed that the restaurant did not have any social distance measures. Since it was the last day of before restrictions they were greedy to get business. This action will be reported to consumer authorities for not following covid -19 practice. There was no QR code signing as well. I ordered a brownie which was extremely eggy, with no flavour, burnt walnuts and just tasted off. When I told the staff this, a girl "replaced" my brownie with a mudcake and asked if it was okay, I was happy because I got something I actually enjoyed . After, when I'm about to leave this lady comes out saying I need to pay for it because it wasn't replaced . First of all, tell me beforehand .
