I have never in my life left a review this negative, but my experience at Hungry Jackās Carrum Downs with staff member Jack Muffert was so appalling that I feel it absolutely must be shared.
From the very start, Jackās attitude was beyond unprofessional. He was rude, condescending, and seemed completely uninterested in doing his job properly. When I placed my order, he acted like it was an inconvenience for him to even acknowledge me. Not only did he get the order wrong, but when I politely raised the issue, he gave me a look of pure attitude, rolled his eyes, and basically blamed me for his mistake. The level of disrespect was unbelievable.
It wasnāt just a one-off slip ā it was his entire manner. He was snappy, dismissive, and made it painfully clear that he had no regard for customer service. I watched him interact with other people in the store as well, and the same arrogance and rudeness was on display. Itās almost like he goes out of his way to make customers feel uncomfortable.
The food I eventually received was cold, sloppy, and thrown together without care. When I asked about the delay and the quality, he shrugged it off and spoke to me with a shocking level of sarcasm. At this point, I was absolutely disgusted, not just with the food, but with the way I was being treated by someone who is supposed to represent Hungry Jackās.
This experience was so bad that I honestly question how management allows Jack to continue working there. Staff like this donāt just create a bad experience ā they drive customers away permanently. If this is the standard Hungry Jackās Carrum Downs is willing to accept, then it speaks volumes about how little they value their customers.
I will never be returning to this store, and I will be making a formal complaint to head office. I strongly advise anyone reading this to think twice before visiting Hungry Jackās Carrum Downs unless serious action is taken to address staff like Jack Muffert. This was not just disappointing ā it was absolutely disgraceful.
Hungry Jackās Carrum Downs seriously needs to review their hiring standards and training, because allowing someone like Jack Muffert to represent the store damages the entire brand. I will not be returning, and I will be encouraging others to avoid this location until management addresses this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent through drive through last night around 8pm, 16th Jan. Asked for a relatively simple order with a couple of changes. Large Ultimate double whopper meal with no tomato and no mayo and large onion rings instead of the fries.
When we get to the window to pay the meal and it's somehow $25. Asked for the receipt and yup they have overcharged by adding an extra large chips and an large onion rings, sigh. Then they forgot to give the drink, had to wait at the window until someone noticed and asked what was wrong.
Had a feeling this place doesn't do attention to detail well so checked the burger and sure enough, burger had mayo and a tomato on it when specifically asking for it not to be on it. Lucky I unwrapped it while at the window and showed the blonde girl who took my order and she sighed. (mind you alteration wasn't on the receipt so.. attention to detail)
She said could you please wait at a bay so did that. She comes out literally 10 seconds later giving me a scrunched up burger. Opened it again and yup, same burger with the tomato off and the mayo attempted to be scraped away. If I had been allergic to either rather than just not like it, lawsuit would be happening. I don't blame the staff though, I blame the excuse of a manager who doesn't bother training their staff to have any kind of customer care or attention to detail...
The burgers are NOT better at this...

I didn't want to call the restaurant because i assumed they would have been busy and that they would get to my order when they could. I ended up getting frustrated as my delivery time went from 7:15 to 8:15, so i called them. The lady who picked up the phone said āhelloā in a very rude tone and i said ā hi my name is ** and i ordered-ā i didn't even get to finish my sentence and she randomly put me on hold, i was very confused but also quite upset because the way she answered the phone was very unsatisfying. She then came back and said ā can you hear meā i said āyesā and then repeated what i was trying to say and she just randomly hung up on me before i even finished my sentence again! So i was very shocked and called back 3 times to where there was no answer. She was very rude and i understand if a restaurant is busy but i am also a paying customer and i just wanted my food. Im sure it doesnāt take 1 whole hour to put a burger and fries in a bag. Terrible customer service, i will not be ordering from...
