Letās talk chips. Or rather, letās talk half chips. Because every time I order them, Iām convinced the kitchen staff are either hungry or auditioning for a role in Oceanās Eleven: The Deep Fry Heist. The container arrives looking like itās already been halfway eaten ā and not by me. Itās less āgenerous servingā and more ārationed during a potato shortage.ā
Now, onto the burger ā or as I call it, ādeconstructed mystery meat sculpture.ā I order mine without the bun because Iām gluten free and they donāt offer a GF option. Fair enough. But when it arrives, it looks like someone hurled the ingredients from across the kitchen and just let gravity sort it out. Lettuce is upside down, tomatoās hiding somewhere underneath, and the patty is usually perched at an angle like itās halfway through an escape attempt.
But hereās the twist: despite looking like a culinary crime scene, the burger tastes⦠good. Really good. Juicy, flavourful, and actually worth the chaos. Itās like dating someone with terrible fashion sense ā a hot mess on the outside, but with real inner charm.
Would I go back? Probably. But Iāll be counting my chips like Iām auditing a bank and bracing for another round of āGuess Whatās in the Bunless Stack.ā Oh,...

Dear Hungry Jackās Customer Service,
I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Hungry Jackās. The Angus burgers we received were so dry they were inedible, and to make matters worse, the packaging was a complete mess. Items were thrown into the bag with no care, and we couldnāt even tell which burger was which ā an absolute joke for a national food chain.
The standard of food and service is well below what should be acceptable in Australia. In fact, it is worse than what one might expect in a third-world country. The hygiene practices I observed also raise serious concerns and, in my view, require urgent investigation by the Health Department.
On top of this, the food provided did not match what is advertised. The promotional images and product descriptions are completely misleading, as customers are not receiving what is being marketed. This borders on false and deceptive advertising.
I expect this matter to be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. Customers deserve safe, hygienic, and correctly advertised food ā not the substandard experience I was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been here exactly 6 times in the last 6 months. I am usually buying a takeaway dinner for my large family, so I am buying a mixture of burgers and sides around the total value of $70 to $80. Unfortunately, 3 times out of the 6, items were missed in my order. One time it was missing the nuggets in a Hunger Tamers box, another it was missing a burger and a serving of fries. Although I take every opportunity to check I have everything, it can be difficult when the server is busy and there are people standing behind you. Also, unless you have a list in your hand, itās hard to check off that you have everything exactly. I did call the restaurant once I got home and realised, and they offered to make good one my missing items on my next visit. This did happen. On the second time I called but the phone would not pick up. I informed the server what happened on my next visit and they just gave the missing item based on my word. My last visit was a smaller order for 3 people and they got everything correct. I wonder if they will ever make a mistake in my favour if I make another big order? Hasnāt...
