Ivy Lane Camberwell — Restaurant in Melbourne

Compliment to the chef, the service manager and staff at Ivy Lane! This is my first visit to the cafe. The service manager was courteous and professional, we didn't wait for more than 1 minute to get a table. The waitress was friendly and helpful when we tried to make up our minds for our orders. I had a beautifully presented and delicious Chorizo Benedict and a great cup of latte. The only thing I felt could improve is the size of the "large" coffee, which is a standard cup of no more than 300ml. I haven't seen my friends for a while and we sat for hours to catch up. It was a nice and quiet spot on Saturday morning. Service was great and the venue was light and airy with a nice atmosphere.

Food was rock solid, I feel like this place is running its kitchen at a loss because their prices were quite reasonable for the quality on show. I will note my goats cheese souffle which I was worried would be super heavy was well balanced by the salad and dressing cutting through the rich flavours. My partner really enjoyed their lemon french toast as well.

The coffee was unfortunately not great. Inglewood beans are usually pretty good but the heavy bitter and astringent notes were off putting.

Food is good . Waitress’s are fantastic , the owner is clueless when it comes to hospitality. We had a booking for Mother’s Day revoked by the owner , who favoured what he termed “a bigger booking”. My father is 89, suffering from Parkinson’s Disease and he feels comfortable in the private room which we booked. (We’ve dined in that room many times before). Now we have to spend Mother’s Day at home as he won’t dine anywhere else. Best of all, owner got one of his staff to call us and inform us that the boss pulled the pin on the booking.
