Jock's Ice Cream & Sorbet — Restaurant in Melbourne

Passed by here a lot, finally decided to pop in as the weather was warm. The shop is adorable and has an inviting atmosphere and colourful decor. My partner and I tasted a few flavours before finally settling on 4: rocky road, hoky poky, passionfruit, and pineapple. Very generous portions for $8, our cones were packed right to the bottom, with a large scoop on top. My partner loved the authenticity of the rocky road with the addition of real marshmallow pieces inside. I loved how refreshing the pineapple was, it reminded me of a chilled pineapple smoothie! A couple of years ago this was the place to go on a hot day and the variety of ice creams was a kid in a candy shop moment. Today was disappointing, served at the front door and a variety that uninspired me to a point that perhaps vanilla was a safe choice. 2 stars for service, 0 for variety, to be known in memory as that store was amazing years ago.

Why go to St Kilda when you can go to Jock's in Albert Park for a real ice cream experience? This place is the bomb! I love the Hokey Pokey - I get it everytime I come. Mum loves the Turkish Delight, and raves about it. The Mocha and Chocolate are also very good. The sorbets are very refreshing in summer and are perfectly balanced with the sweet/sour. There's honestly something for everyone here. I'd come here rain, hail or shine, because I love Jock's ice cream that much. The best part is that they are open late every night!
