It seems Australia has a lot of good Greek places to eat. The food here is great and I tried the skepasto which is similar to a wrapped gyro but like a sandwich between two pita breads and I think it also had cheese in it. Despite living in Greece for 15 years, I hadn't tried this before it was quite good.. we also had the selection of dips and a salad. The dips have a selection of all the dips they offer and they are all quite nice and they have a lot of pita bread to try them, but it works better if there are 3 of 4 people in your party. Otherwise it might be too much for two. The tzatziki was good but a bit watery compared to a home made one where you drain the cucumbers longer so the tzatziki comes out creamier. Also the kalimera sauce is just mayo with paprika so it's not that special or a Greek dip really.

What I would like to point out is that it's sort of self service because you have to get your own water and go inside to order as well which I'm not a fan of and not something I like to see at a sit down restaurant. That's something reserved for fast food restaurants. That's why I think of it as a 4 star place otherwise it would have been 5 stars for me.

I would have also like if they had more outdoor seating because outdoor seating is limited and not something you can do outside if you have a party bigger than 4 people. Something to...

I called up last night to place a take away order in which was one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had. The lady on the other end of the phone could not hear me because it was too noisy in the shop and I had to repeat myself on 5 occasions. She was blaming me for this

Then she was making it out that it was my fault that she could not hear me - so I politely advised “ well if you take take away orders for your business why do you have a phone next to the shop front.... move it away to another location so you can hear your customers. It’s not my fault that you cannot hear me”

Once I said that she continued to apologise as she was blaming me for not being able to hear because the shop was busy.

Then came the other part.... I wanted to order lamb gyro as stated on Their menu. I am told the gyro comes in mince meat format. I advised that gyro is not mince meat.... you use mince meat for hamburgers and etc. I am then advised they only have mince meat and lamb gyro and they could do this for me instead.

So after 5 frustrating minutes on the phone, I told them not to worry about it and hung...

Found it online and decided to give it a go. Went for lunch and it didn’t seems that busy. They had sitting in door and out door. Nice to site outside during summer. The setting of the restaurant was quite interesting. Seemed like an old school restaurant. Simply walk in and grab a seat wherever you like that’s what we were told to do and order at the front when ready. The menu was small and simple. We ordered the chicken souvlaki (the wrap) and chicken platter (open plate). Didn’t really says what’s in the platter so I asked the server at the counter and she was not very helpful and disinterested in explaining. I assumed and asked if it had meat, salad, chips, pita bread and tzatziki and she said yes. When we got our food the souvlaki didn’t look too bad for the price and the platter was also quite generous extreme fact that it had no salad but just half a sliced tomatoes. The chips had not seasoning and so did the meat. Felt bland and plain with no flavour. We had Greek food in city and felt it was times better. Over all, good to try once but not my favour and don’t think we will ever go back.

Returned after a couple of years as I see it’s always busy and thought maybe it’s improved. But, it’s still exactly the same. Dry pork, bland chips, extremely basic ‘salad’ (sliced tomato and onion).🙁 there are far better choices around in my opinion. If you want a proper open platter, go to Greca Street, if you want a proper Souvlaki, go to Hellenic Depot. Update: Visited here after quite some time, over a year. The Chicken Platter was very filling with lots of meat. The salad serving is sliced tomato. The meat was okay, we were in a group of 8 and most thought it was dry. The service was very good at the counter and the lady was very friendly. Not bad. Nothing to be excited about, but not bad. Would i go here again? Maybe. Souvlaki is jam packed with chips which means you lose out on the actual meat. I wish i knew before i ordered the extra side of chips. The chips on their own were crisp and nice, however the chips inside the souvlaki were not so nice.
