This KFC location has been consistently disappointing, not only for me but also for my friends. Every time I decide to give them another shot—hoping they’re serious about "improving customer service"—I'm left feeling frustrated and let down.
I can't remember every incident, but let me share the last three experiences my partner and I have had.
First Incident: We ordered a large meal, but they gave us a medium one, with an incorrect number of wicked wings. I was annoyed but brushed it off, thinking maybe it was just a simple mistake.
Second Incident: We ordered a batch of original recipe pieces, around 10 or 15. The staff told us they only had wings left and asked if we wanted them all to be wings. Obviously, we didn't. So they had us wait in the parking lot, saying they’d bring the food out. We waited there for about half an hour and there still no one came. We were wondering if they’d forgotten about us. Finally, we went back inside to check, only to be told that no one knew anything about our order. Frustrated, we explained the whole situation to the staff, and within two minutes, they handed us our food. It was infuriating to realize that our time had been wasted because of a lack of communication or support.
Third (and Final) Incident: Today was the last straw. I’m usually not the type to write reviews, but if I don’t let this out, I won’t be able to contain my frustration. Today’s Friday, and I was in a good mood, having placed my order through the app. There were about 6–8 cars in the drive-thru, so I patiently waited for my turn. When it was finally my time, I gave my order number through the speaker. The employee told me to drive through, so I proceeded.
Not having been to this location in a while, I wasn’t sure how many windows there were. Usually, there’s one for payment and another for pick-up. I stopped at the first window, I tried to talk to their staff, but no one came. After waiting around two minutes with no response, I figured maybe they didn’t need payment since I ordered online. So, I drove forward. But then I realized there was only one window—the very one I’d just been waiting at. I reversed, and finally, a staff member appeared. I tried explaining my confusion to him, but he did not listent to me and did not want to listen to me but cut me off and told me to drive around and reenter the queue. I was stunned. I just wanted someone to hear me out and understand that I wasn’t intentionally trying to mess things up.
I voiced my concerns again, mentioning that rejoining the queue might mess up the order flow for everyone else. But once more, I was met with, "You have to drive around and reenter the queue." Frustrated, I complied. When I waited for another round of queue and finally got back to the speaker, they told me they couldn’t find my order number or it had already been picked up. At that point, I was beyond angry. I took a deep breath, trying to stay respectful, and explained everything to a different staff member, who finally understood and resolved the issue.
I know that in writing, these incidents might not seem like a big deal, but the complete lack of communication and respect left me fuming. Being ignored, told I’m wrong, and having my time wasted during a busy Friday dinner rush was incredibly frustrating.
As for the food quality, it’s generally acceptable. Small mistakes happen, and I can overlook that. But this location has a recurring issue with customer service. Every time, the owner promises to "improve," and while there are some kind staff members who genuinely try to help, it feels like the disrespectful attitudes of a few others spoil the experience for everyone.
Improving customer service requires action, not just words. I understand Fridays can be busy, and the staff might be under pressure, but that’s no excuse to ignore customers. Each customer should be treated with respect, so they can, in turn, show that respect back.
That’s all I have to say. I still wish all the staff and customers a good weekend and...
Read moreI ordered the Big Dinner meal through KFC app for take away from Clayton restaurant today, at around 1pm 15th of March 2025. I always check to see if I've received everything ordered as a habit because, I understand the drive-through can get busy at times.
Today when I checked my meal, instead of 8 pieces of chicken, I've received 6 smallest, overcooked and pathetic looking 6 pieces of chicken. I took the bag inside and told the team member that they got my order wrong and asked if I can get some different chicken pieces as well. The team member asked me what is wrong with the meal, and I kept telling him what is wrong and to have a look in the box. Then this team member took the box of chicken around the back and talked to another team member and came back, asked me what is wrong with the meal again as he could not understand what I'm telling him. Showed no interest in the matter and no sense of care. It was not a busy time either inside the restaurant. There's plenty of better chicken pieces left on the warming plate and instead giving me a fresh batch, this team member just put 2 more small pieces he could find and gave the box back to me. I gave him the box in the paper bag, and he just gave me back the box itself with no tissues, no wipes and no bag to put the chips and the sauce. Now I have a box of small chicken pieces and chicken nuggets mixed in a greasy mess with no grease paper. I had to put all my food in a plastic bag that I was in my car.
I always avoided the Clayton restaurant because of bad customer service but after 5 years, I thought that might have changed, but I was so wrong. This south Asian kid had 0 customer care or any care at all and no understanding of the job. No apology or care for the food that been served. We as customers expect to get exactly what we pay for, and this unexpectable. I will never ever order from this restaurant again and I hope this message will reach the higher management and take action regarding the matter.
Review 4 years ago - Almost every time they get my order wrong, I have to either check myself or ask if everything is in the bag. Last week Saturday I've ordered the cheap as chips meal and I received only 5 pieces of chicken instead of 8 and they were all wings and legs, chips have no flavor at all. I wasn't going to write anything negative about this place but after my last order I'm very...
Read moreI gave one star only because it did not accept zero. The staff member who served me should not have a job, and neither should the manager who was on shift. After waiting for just over 15 minutes to have my order taken ( the store was not busy only had 1 person waiting for their order, and the drive thru was not busy,) i had to ask to be served, they just stood around yapping or on their mobiles, and totally ignored me ( and 2 other customers) the bloke who served me was arrogant, he packed my chips and left it sitting on the bench for 20 minutes, and i had to ask for my order, there was plenty of chicken, but was not packed. When i asked for my order to be packed, the arrogant bloke finally boxed the chicken, and had the nerve to give me the 2 cold large chips. I told him i wanted fresh chips given it sat there for ages, his reply was "Oh its still luke warm" i got fresh chips and left. The man and lady also were not served, they also had to ask to be served, neither of the customets were happy, yet the same bloke who served me also served the man, and he was also arrogant to the male customer. The chicken was oily because it was not drained, BUT at least my chips was hot!! I will never go to this Clayton store again, KFC should be ashamed of themselves for bad staff and low quality food, biggest...
