I have been here a two times for lunch only and on both occasions the reviews which speak to inconsistent service and food quality are mostly right. But all restaurants deserve fresh reviews. We ordered four popular meals three of which are a Korean-Chinese combination that often go together:
Jajangmyeon (ģģ„ė©“), also called jjajangmyeon (ģ§ģ„ė©“), is a noodle dish in a black bean sauce. Along withĀ jjampongĀ (짬ė½, spicy seafood noodle soup) andĀ tangsuyuk(ķģģ”, sweet and sour pork or beef).
The fourth was a whole Korean fried chicken. Which is served with a choice of sauces and pickled radish
Service speed was pretty quick. The guy serving was friendly, polite and attentive.
Side dishes or pan-chan were kimchi, fermented bean srouts, pickled cucumber and seaweed, and fish cake. All were tasty and fresh.
All up were very satisfied. Meal portions were slightly smaller than Kor-chi up the road on Clayton Rd. We would return and would order all this again. We were fortunate the restaurant was not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOhhhhh you know you're in for a treat when every other diner is Korean, and give their advice on favourite dishes! We enjoyed table BBQ beef a few different cuts, seafood, sides of japchae, cold beef noodles, KFC, kimchi pancake, mushrooms, rice, and many more! We were happy to give our dietary requirements to the owner and allow him to curate a menu to feed the 5 of us, one being vegetarian. Impeccable. Nothing we didn't like, and having travelled around South Korea it brought back fabulous memories. Do yourself a favour and give them a try! N.B. I am a chef. I also suffer with OCD and find it incredibly difficult to eat food prepared by others. The owner was so gracious in allowing me to reassure myself visiting the kitchen and talking to the chef. I know, I'm a nightmare customer, but they were so welcoming I wasn't as embarrassed as I usually would be in explaining my issues. If I could give 10...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUsed to be good but was disappointed tonight. I completely understand the food might take a while to come out as the place seems understaff. We ordered a set and been told one item is not available which we also understand and didnāt mind to pay extra for substitute. However, the waiter said they donāt have the dipping sauce for bbq when we asked for refill ( seriously they only gave us 2 sets to start with when we have 4 people. Each person should have their own sauce). Also, how can a Korean bbq run out of sauce on a Saturday night. The waiter said the kitchen need to make more sauce and may take a while but we ended up with no more sauce for half of our meal. I donāt think it is that hard to make the sauce and they simply donāt care. This is unacceptable for us and sorry to say this possibly the last time we would visit...
