KFC Vermont — Restaurant in Melbourne

The total experience at this KFC was terrible. We entered the store around 8.30pm while knowing on Google and the trading hours posted on their front door both says close at 10pm. I noted that the cabinets that hold cooked chicken products have been turned off, chips station the heating was also turned off. So we assume the products are already not fresh nor hot. While the young man at counter took my order, I said clearly - a regular size original tenders box, he asked - what size did you want? Well fine I repeated - regular. My order was prepared quick but when I asked if I could get one of the drinks at room temperature not from the fridge as mum-in-law prefers room temp drink, the young man straight away knocked me back by saying - all our drinks are stored in fridge, we transfer drinks from fridge to fridge, no room temp. Oh well, it is impressive to know that all KFC bottled drink stored in fridge. The fact is I just saw another staff member stocking up the drink fridge and he pulled room temp bottle drinks out of the package and ducted into the fridge! So either this young man simply ttreat customer like an idoit, or that staff memeber is in breach of KFC's drink storage policies? As soon as we sat in the dinning room, another man - I guess he was the manager on shift walked out of the back door and told people that the restaurant will be closed in 20 min which is 9pm. Without giving any reason to customers the manager decided to shut the restaurant 1 hour earlier! Not to mention the chicken tenders, original receipes were all cold, patato grave was cold too, chips were sodgy and too salty, we have to pack up and leave in 20 min taking cold food home. I thought I may be wrong so I took another look of their opening hours posted on their front slide door on my way out, where clearly says Mon-Wed close at 10pm, not 9pm! I then checked on Google, where also says close at 10pm! Ok it looks like KFC can do wahtever they want, so we will not come back as we certainly did not want to be...

My fourth KFC experience since I arrived Melbourn in October 2023. All previous three experiences each at a different KFC branch were not great with the food. I vowed that I won't have KFC any more. But my boy really missed the taste of KFC so I thought fine, let him experience what I had experienced so he would give up.

However, chicken pieces at KFC Vermont were actually not too bad, and the meat was not so dry like what I had at KFC Ringwood. Just the skin was a bit too salty. Fries was good, potato and gravy too.

The lady who was taking the orders though, looked like she had worked 48 hours straight. Yawn in front of me, no smile, moved slowly. Wasn't rude, but made me felt I wasn't welcomed.

The other girl who was preparing orders on the other hand, had smile on her face all the time and was very lively...

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR ORDER! I don’t normally leave bad reviews but this place needs to pick up its game. I’m local so I’ve been here many times and not once have my drive thru order have been complete. It’s either missing number of chicken, sauce, sides or dessert. This was the last straw and that’s why I’m leaving this review. Came here today order the family feast and was in hurry so I did t check until a got home, I was missing the coleslaw, what made it worst was the 10 pieces of chicken was like 6 wing portion and 4 beast portion. What happened to the other mixed pieces! Last time I went they miss the chicken nuggets, and the time before was the chocolate moose.
