If I could put 0 star rating I would. I had been so excited to finally try out this seafood boil especially since it’s new to the area. However my expectations were not met. I had a booking and they told me to wait for 20 mins while other people who didn’t have a reservation were seated before us. To make it worse we choose the all you can eat promotion that they had with a 90 mins limit. We had been very worried especially since they close at 9pm. When we sat down, they gave us papers to choose what options we wanted to eat for our individual seafood boil. However we weren’t really explained how the all you can eat process worked. We had to ask staff and one staff in particular was very rude and annoyed the whole time. The seafood was very limited and you even had to pay extra for lobster and crab. We placed our food in and found out that they ran out of eggs. Which was very upsetting, and odd since they could’ve easily purchased more from the nearby supermarket or they should’ve stock more especially during this promotion and while also still being new. Our starter didn’t come out till 45-50mins later. We also ordered water which didn’t even come, we had to ask the staff a couple of times before we got our jug. To make it worse our starters were cold and had no flavour. My question is why did it take another hour for our seafood boil to come out. This is not an over exaggeration, other customers around us were getting restless and annoyed due to the long wait time. That some customers even left before there meal arrived. Some of the staff, when asked how long it would take, they would roll their eyes and say shouldn’t be too long. As we checked the time, it was 10mins to closing time, and we had realised that on the all you can eat, you can’t order more food after 30mins. We spoke to staff, and they said we wouldn’t be able to order more food due to the kitchen closing. My food didn’t arrive till 5mins before closing time. In the end they allowed us to have another serving of seafood and starters but they didn’t give us everything that we had ordered. The food itself was disgusting, it smelt fishy which usually indicates it’s not fresh. The food was cold and not flavourful at all. They were still cleaning around us and waiting for us to be done, however we could tell that staff, in particular one person was very annoyed and kept rolling her eyes at us and other customers. I understand how it is working in hospitality due to experience, however, it doesn’t justify the issues that happened on this night such as the attitude of staff, the quality and quantity of the meal and the short staffed. Especially during the dinner rush. This is probably the worse seafood boil I’ve been too. I will not be coming back. And I recommend others to...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a dining experience that’s fun, messy, and packed with flavour, Kickin’ Inn Broadmeadows might just hit the spot. I went there recently with a group of friends and, honestly, it was one of the most unique dinners I’ve had in a while. This isn’t your typical sit-down meal — think gloves, bibs, and seafood dumped right on the table. It’s loud, it’s casual, and it’s all about getting your hands dirty.
We ordered the Kickin’ Mixed Bag and added some extras like corn, potatoes, and rice. I went for the “Kickin’ Licious” sauce, medium heat, and it was the perfect balance of spicy and garlicky. My friend who ordered the “spicy” version was sweating bullets — so maybe don’t overestimate your tolerance. The seafood itself was fresh, and there was plenty of it. The prawns were juicy, the crab was a bit fiddly (as expected), but worth the effort.
One surprise highlight was the Shrimp Martini, which came out first — crispy prawns in a tangy sauce served in a martini glass. Slightly gimmicky, but actually really tasty. The drinks menu is simple but decent, and everything came out pretty quickly despite it being a busy night.
The vibe of the place is lively and family-friendly. Staff were upbeat and helpful, and you could tell they were used to people asking about sauce levels and how to eat crab properly. Music was a bit loud at times, but it adds to the party-like atmosphere.
Only downside? Parking at Broadmeadows Central can be a pain during dinner rush, so give yourself a bit of extra time.
Overall, Kickin’ Inn isn’t a place you go for a quiet date — it’s where you go to laugh, eat with your hands, and maybe wear a bib as an adult. It’s fun, messy, and surprisingly delicious. If you love seafood and don’t mind a little chaos, you’ll love it. *staff did not look happy but they dint disappoint us with bad service.. was...
Read moreUnfortunately our experience here was absolutely horrendous, my friend and I went in yesterday night ordered our food. The prawns were not fresh at all neither were the muscles, crawfish, squid or octopus. We suspected as soon as we touched and tasted the food. We later then asked the female worker how fresh the seafood is and she told us that the food was frozen and not fresh at all. The squid 🦑 you could honestly hold it with your fingers and it was melting, this is extremely disgusting and stomach sickening, they also had all of there ink bags still inside of them. Therefore clearly has not been cleaned at all! Not to mention I suffer from a liver disease, since I got home I have been stuck on the toilet with horrible diarrhoea and nausea due to the seafood being unfresh. I would genuinely not recommend this place to anyone at all, service fee for a Sunday was $21 and we were not told until after we looked at our receipts, for this kind of food and service the amount of $240 is ridiculous let alone ignore the amount but I am so incredibly ill with food poisoning. I genuinely hope that people are careful before they eat here and we will never step foot here again period.
Re post of this manager had reached out to us in regards to providing “compensation” and said that his team will be sending myself a voucher even called myself and everything. It has now been over two weeks and have received nothing. Quick lie fix to shut...
