L'Affogato Caffe — Restaurant in Melbourne

L'Affogato Caffeis fortunate that google allows a one star rating.

The menu consisted of generic breakfast items, including the big breakfast which should be renamed as the "Big Mistake". We came here on mothers day hoping for a quick and easy breakfast but waited over half an hour to receive a big mistake and eggs benewrecked. The poached eggs was no different to a hardboiled egg and the sausages were absolutely dysmal. As the owner (?) of the cafe greeted us and apologised I coincidentally found a METAL shaving (about 4mm long) from what I presume was the metal cooking tools. There was no offer of compensation or making a new meal and the lady simply said "Sorry".

In addition the lady simply disposed of this metal shaving and did not advise of the other staff on the situation.

If you value your time and wellbeing I highly suggest avoiding this cafe under all circumstances.

My mother asked for almond milk her coffee, not because of preference but because of an ALLERGY. Asked the waitress that delivered it if it was almond milk and she assured us it was. After having a sip she could tell it was not almond milk. I took it back to the barista and asked him. He said it was cows milk. They said they would make a new one and deliver it. After 20 minutes and after everyone else had finished their drinks, the almond milk coffee had STILL NOT ARRIVED. We approached the barista again, and he said they had not even begun it, as they were "busy".

My mother and I will never be returning, the staff were plain rude and we did not receive 1 apology. My mother is now extremely unwell. Very disappointed in the service as we have been before and...

Clearly a problem with these new owners. Everything appeared to go wrong here this time. Coffee orders went missing, eggs over cooked, cold toast. I asked for the Salmon scramble but with gluten free bread and the waiter said that would be fine. My meal came out approximately 15 minutes after everyone else's and I was told "I don't know why this took so long". They had served gluten free raisin toast with my salmon scramble - because that makes sense... The bread did not work with the dish and it was soggy and cold. I barely touched the food it was that bad. When approached by the waiter as it was time to pay he said "Sorry about the... err... food."...
