Compelled by numerous glowing reviews and the accolade of Melbourne’s top sanga, I ventured to Melton to experience this highly praised establishment. The staff exuded warmth and professionalism, and the Spanish conversations among them hinted at the restaurant’s authenticity. My order included the Chuckarero, a chicken empanada, a pulled beef empanada, a breakfast burrito, Mexican lasagna, a hot chocolate, and a latte. While my wife savored the empanadas, she found the breakfast burrito and Mexican lasagna disappointingly flavorless and devoid of any spice. I was similarly let down by the Chuckarero burger; despite its ā€˜HOT’ label, it lacked the promised heat and was modest in size, especially considering its cost. A fairer price might have softened the blow. Our bill totaled $85, which, in our opinion, did not reflect the value of our meal. Additionally, our wait was lengthy, despite the restaurant not being crowded, with our drinks consumed well before our meal’s arrival. Although this spot enjoys local popularity, and I wish them continued success, I cannot in good faith recommend it based on...

Love the food but was disappointed that the $12 sandwich I ordered for pick up has jumped 50% in price to $17.90. I cannot understand how inflation would make it jump THAT much.

Until prices come down I’m gonna have to give this place a miss, which is a shame.

Update after business owner response:

I previously ordered 6-12 months prior to the price increase and it was definitely $12-something, not $13. I know this because I made a phone order using the older menu from my previous visit and was shocked when I was told the cost upon pickup.

I understand costs have gone up and that you’re a small business but that price increase is insane. Even IF it was previously $13.90, that’s still a 28% increase. Again, great food but with price increases like this it makes it unlikely we will be back...

This is nice secret find. We were in the area searching for a planter box. We realised we need a food. We stopped by Deer Park with zero expectations. This was a pleasant surprise.

We gorged on the pupusas and empenadas. The Latin Foods and Wine also has BBQ nights that we need to come back for. We enjoyed the deli and I am having regular Yerba Mate now.

They have a good selection of bottled beers in liquor section that you can have with your meal or a regular tap beer.

I have to warn that their frozen empenadas and pupusas were different than the ones that they serve at the restaurant. I was disappointed with them.

I also wish they could price their deli. So many items that I wanted to buy, but I refrained. I don't like unknown...

became interested in Latin Foods and Wines after seeing it highlighted on an episode of Postcards. the food looked so enticing we decided to drive 60+ KM to visit and try some of the foods. They have a long list of empanada fillings, we tried 3. All very good but the beef, cheese and green chilii was our favorite. We also had the Columbian Tamale. This is a wonderful dish and I highly recommend it to everyone who goes. We wanted to try more items on the menu especially their recognized steak sandwich. We decided to take home some pre-made pre-packaged dishes also pictured here. The staff is friendly and helpful. I am sure a return visit will occur in the future

Had lunch here on 9th December. Ordered a Chacarero & a drink called 'Pony'. I'd just like to say that from the moment I walked in the atmosphere was great. The girl at the counter was friendly, professional and helpful. Now to the food and drink. The Chacarero was absolutely delicious - the steak was tender and all the ingredients were fresh and tasty. Even the chips served on the plate were golden and delicious, you could tell the oil that they were cooked in was clean. The drink that the girl behind the counter recommended 'Pony' went well with the meal. I have no hesitation in recommending this business. Well done, keep up the great work
