Pad Thai Take Away & Restaurant — Restaurant in Melbourne

We have been customers for 6 years, always loved eating here though won’t be returning. My husband, baby and I had dinner Thursday night. My husband kept complaining the seafood tasted weird and barely ate his dinner, I ordered pad Thai, looked completly different with barely any chicken it was all egg. Wishing an hour and a half of arriving home, my husband went Grey in the face and become extremity unwell. It’s been over 36 hours and he’s still sick! I called Pad Thai to notify them as we had spent over $110 on dinner they might at the very least consider a refund but no. I was told for insurance reasons they need evidence and documents ect. Furious with this restaurant and will not be going back ever again and neither will any friends or family. Forgot how good this restaurant is. There are other Thai restaurants around but none deliver the feeling that you could actually be in Thailand. The rear part of the restaurant is set around a huge water feature containing water lilies, fish and a large Ern with water flowing from the top. There are also hanging baskets full of colourful plants and other paraphernalia including red lanterns and wall hangings depicting Thai scenes. Pat who is the owner of the restaurant is the perfect host. He is supported by friendly staff and his wife who is the chef. The food is fresh and flavoursome and the servings are generous. Prices are reasonable I think compared to other restaurants, cafes and pubs nowadays. Pad Thai is well worth a visit for a great Thai...

Unsure why this has had previous good reviews. Been a handful of times, hoping each time it was just a bad night, each time very disappointed. Food tasted like the packet stuff you can get from coles, they fill the mains with lots of veggies rather than protein to cut down on costs (a lot of it is stuff they dont list in their menus), curries/mains are watery, each time I got take away I stood there waiting for at least 5-10 minutes for someone to come to the front counter; watching as my food goes cold on the bench. I could just be spoiled because Ive been to Thailand more times than I care to admit, so I know good Thai food..... but be warned, if you can be bothered, you could definitely make better stuff yourself at...
