Le Smash Burgers & Fries — Restaurant in Melbourne

I’ve seen a lot of hype about this place, mostly from influencers and sponsored posts, so I had to check it out myself. I’ll be honest, I think it’s a bit overrated, some of these high rated reviews are also from “invites” made from the restaurant

Here’s what we ordered: ⭐️Classic Double Burger I’ve had better smash burgers for the same price. It was a little on the lukewarm side, which I get, it was a busy Friday night, so I’ll give them some leeway there. ⭐️Kentucky Chicken Burger This one was a letdown. It lacked flavor and seasoning, pretty much just tasted like fried batter with some herbs. The chicken was a bit pink too, which was a little off-putting. ⭐️Giant Chicken Nugget This was probably the highlight of the meal. The batter was crispy, and the chicken inside was juicy. It was fresh, which definitely made a difference. However, it did lack some flavor and had a peppery tang that wasn’t my favorite. ⭐️Large Fries They’re fries. Hard to mess up, and they were decent. ⭐️Onion Rings I liked the batter on these! Just wished they were fresher when they came out.

Overall, I think there are other spots I’ve been to where I’ve paid the same price and gotten better quality. The food lacked seasoning, and honestly, it didn’t feel fresh enough. On top of that, the work environment didn’t seem great, one of the front-of-house staff was yelling at the kitchen team and swearing over a “bad” job. It’s tough to have a good experience when that kind of energy is in the air.

This place has potential, but for me, it just didn’t live up...

Their menu features the best ingredients you’ll find, including Sher Wagyu beef, chips straight from the farm and Martin’s Potato Buns direct from the USA. The chicken and beef are halal certified! They also have a vegan and vegetarian option. 🍃

⭐️ Classic Single - just perfection! They don’t smash the patty TOO thin, so you still feel like you’re eating something and it has all that beautiful caramelisation. ✔️ Le Coupe Fried Chicken Sandwich - in honour of the same burger by @lecoupe_friedchicken in LA. Because the fillet is fried and dipped in honey it lost some of its crunch, they’re still perfecting it. ⭐️ Bacon and Cheese - an unsuspecting favourite for me! It has candied bacon and a house made onion jam. I was meant to share it but got lost in it and ate the whole thing, whoops ⭐️ Giant Chicken Nugget - have a look at this thing?! A supersized version of a nugget. Made by hand, with chicken mince. Crispy, impressive. If you think it’s a schnitzel I don’t care that’s fine lol. ⭐️ Onion Rings - love their light crispy batter! Best!! ⭐️ Fries - crispy and well seasoned

Having only been open 2 weeks they’ve already hit the ground running. I could almost say these could possibly be some of the best burgers I’ve tried yet. They’re the perfect size, texture, flavours, just couldn’t really fault anything. A must visit if you’re a burger lover!...

Le Smash can do no wrong seeing as how good 2fatgreeks and 3salamis is.

Went for an early dinner and it wasn't long until it got smashed and for good reason - with new menu items and their staple burgers repping 110gm patties (usual sits somewhere b/w 80-100gm), housemade sauces as good as and if not better than a Big Mac sauce and lightly battered chicken with no oily residue and no MSG.

The only nugget you need in your life is the Giant Nugget - mine was juicy and tender and the chicken mince was juicy.. one bite of this dipped in the Le Smash sauce and its what all your Big McDreams are made of.

The Classic Double Burger was good but almost too much meat.. and honestly had nothing on the understated Bacon & Cheese Burger. Do yourself a favour and get this burger - the candied bacon bits and house-made onion jam combo is honestly God Tier!

And the Le Coupe was all the right kinds of sweet and spicy but don't expect it to be crunchy as the honey softens the fried chicken piece.

For dessert, Sizzler eat your heart out with the Cheesy Martin's Potato Roll in the Le Smash Tenders Box, an identical replica to the OG. #IYKYK. The only thing missing is the complimentary Sizzler mint or three with the bill!
