Extremely disappointing! After Google searching for a local family friendly Vietnamese restaurant, and following the trip Advisor advise, I booked for 3 ad & 4 kids @ 5:30pm (we live in Bentleigh and normally travel to Koornang road) We arrived on time and waited 15min for the waiter to arrive (left his day job late) and another 15min wait for the owners to arrive from their nail salon down the road. Although, they had kids colourings we waited so so long for the food to arrive that we all lost our patience.
NO ONE was wearing a mask (owners...waiter...customers).
Food was good and fresh, servings were very small and honestly, very average but the biggest surprise was the Banana Fritter which was a tiny banana no bigger than my 4 y/o thumb on its own on a plate ($6.00) NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THAT IN MY LIFE!
and than the Bill! $207.50 for a quick and basic Vietnamese meal with little kids ! We will not be back! Bay side has much better options to offer. Little Vietnam 504 clean...

Vietnam 501 is a family favourite. A no frills, down to earth, all about family and food eatery. The moment you walk in the door you are warmly welcomed, new or a regular.
The ambience is not one of a 5 star restaurant. It’s a bit tight for space and at times noisy, but that’s true of restaurants in Vietnam. It’s a good sign as you quickly get a sense of people connecting and feeling of ease.
Then menu is focused on wholesome good full of flavour food. Meals can arrive at different times, so meals do not sit at the pass. A small sacrifice, as redemption comes by way of the final outcome of enjoying every mouthful and the “mmmmmmmmmm” moments that follow.

The best Vietnamese experience/ meal I’ve had since being in Vietnam. When we walked in, we were greeted with the most friendly staff who delivered the best service possible for the whole time . The menu was wide range of fresh Vietnamese meals. The food was so fresh and so delicious. The best Vietnamese I’ve had since being in Vietnam. The service was the best, staff went above and beyond to cater for what we wanted on the menu. Will definitely be returning & recommending to my family...
