I recently had the pleasure of visiting this charming cafe in Port Melbourne, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by its secluded and tranquil ambiance. The cafe offers a perfect blend of indoor and outdoor seating, making it an ideal spot to enjoy your meal in any weather.

What truly sets this cafe apart is its attention to detail. The lovely paintings for kids create a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a great place for families. The diverse menu is a food lover's dream come true, with a wide array of options to choose from. During my visit, I had the chicken panini and vegetables panini, both of which were absolutely delicious and made with fresh, quality ingredients.

Friendly staff, great atmosphere, nice & relaxed and plenty of seating. Great range of options, I chose a plain croissant (untoasted) and it was soft and fluffy, just as it should be. The chickpea salad was also very good, bags of flavour. The coffee...... pretty dam nice. Had a few from different places and so far the best. Deep flavour with a rich after taste. The owner is passionate about the coffee, which is a rarity in itself. He knows his beans and more importantly, he knows flavour. Highly recommend popping in.

Went back 2 days later and had the Baklava... eat that! If nothing else, that!...

Local Rules is conveniently situated next to Williamstown Rd in Centre Ave which has plenty of parking for cars and bicycles. It is also only 300m to the bike and walking trails along the Bay .

The cafe offers good bench and table seating in the windowed air conditioned indoors and a variety of outdoor tables for the less wintery days. Good coffee, cakes and lunch offering are available and the service is friendly and efficient.
