Booked for 4 on a sunny Sunday 10:30am. Easy to book online - we booked about a week before.

We ordered a side of fries; mains being the fritters with smoked salmon, the chilli scram, the calamari, and the mushroom medley with bacon. We had a pregnant person with us and we didn’t know the chilli scram came with a soft cheese (which pregnant people try to avoid) - one of the chefs kindly came out to chat to us about why the soft cheese was safe to eat because of the way its made, but he still offered to remake it without it. The customer service was impeccable.

I had the calamari - the sizes of the calamari were generous - salad went well with it and tasted very fresh. I had no complaints from my companions about their own orders and they said they enjoyed their dishes.

Later in the afternoon we ordered the katsu french toast as a dessert to share. Ice cream was great, fruits were fresh, presentation was ace - and it was so good with the berry compote. It wasn’t sickly sweet at all so that was nice!

Total was about $50 each (just short of $200) - 3 of us had ordered 2 drinks total, and some of those had additional types of milk. It was reasonable given the amount we ordered.

Location wise - The place is in a spot where I assume a milk bar used to be - there’s plenty of parking around - even the residential streets. As above, staff are super friendly. They have plenty of tables for groups out front, inside, and outside the back. Food is fresh, generously sized, and...

Is this the new must try hype cafe in Mulgrave?

This place is cosy with indoor and outdoor seatings. Service was great, coffee was good, food was amazing and prices were reasonable.

We tried the calamari salad which was perfectly cooked and well balanced. The corn and zucchini fritters came with egg and salad - it was delicious and the portion is decent. Little miss had the pancakes with ice cream, berries and fairy floss. The portion was good, not too big and the pancakes were not too sweet which was great. The pancakes were a bit on the heavy side though. Little man had the cheeseburger with chips - great thick chips, crispy and well seasoned. Burger was good but should have asked with no pickles 😅.

Cafe was recently opened, not too many parkings on the front but there are more on the side street. It was very busy when we visited and had a bit of a wait foe the food which was ok with us.

Have popped in on a few occasions when my go to cafe was unavailable. Have no idea why people claim their coffee is good, all of of the times I've had their coffee, it was pretty bland, had to ask for an extra shot just to remind myself that it's actually coffee.

To clarify, my regular order is for a cappuccino, take away, have had two sit in mugs on one occassion and they were disappointing too. For the cost definitely not worth it. Take away food is also not worth mentioning considering the price.

My go to is Mr. Grumpys at the intersection, and they do a mean take away cap (2 shots of espresso),if someone is interested in comparing the coffees.

Service is what you would expect for an Asian dude, nothing spectacular, compared to how locals are greeted, maybe that's just me, but it's what it is I guess, if that is not the case i apologize for bringing it up in the review, but a smile goes a long...

Our entire experience was soured by the price difference between their in store online ordering menu and physical menu. We were not informed about this at all and we’re not given any physical menu initially!!! Blueberry hotcakes is 22.50 dollars in the physical menu vs 25.87 dollars in the online menu. This is downright ridiculous as it’s a 15% price increase on a Monday (Not a Public Holiday) and we feel completely scammed. Not going to be visiting this place again and you lost multiple customers from the local community! We talked to the staff onsite and they said the online HungryHungry platform menu is set up that way to charge extra and they couldn’t do anything or refund the price discrepancy. This is the first time we heard of an online dining-in ordering menu charging more than the physical menu in Australia!
