Green Mugs Café in Box Hill South exceeded all expectations during our recent visit. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for a wonderful dining experience.
We indulged in a variety of dishes, each one more impressive than the last: 🥐 The brekkie croissant was an absolute standout. The flakiness of the croissant paired perfectly with the generous fillings of ham and scrambled eggs. It was a symphony of flavors and textures that left us craving more. 🌶️ The chili scramble provided a delightful kick, balanced by the impeccable croissant base. The combination of spicy scrambled eggs and the buttery croissant was a match made in heaven. 🍞 The French toast was a revelation. It was expertly cooked, with just the right amount of sweetness. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and the presentation was as impressive as the taste. 🍵 The matcha latte was not only delicious but also incredibly Instagram-worthy. The adorable bear art on top added a whimsical touch that put a smile on our faces. ☕ And of course, no visit to Green Mugs Café would be complete without trying their coffee. The skinny flat white, made with Market Lane coffee beans, was simply divine. It was rich, smooth, and expertly brewed.
But it wasn’t just the food that impressed us. The service at Green Mugs Café was top-notch. The staff were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Despite the rain preventing us from enjoying the outdoor seating area, the cozy atmosphere inside more than made up for it.
Overall, Green Mugs Café is a gem of a neighborhood spot. From the pretty presentation of the food to the warm and inviting ambiance, it’s clear that this café takes pride in providing an exceptional dining experience. We can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu. Highly...

🐷 Pork Benney $24 Perfectly poached egg, pork was juicy with pork floss for more emphasis on central flavour. Sweetness and crunchiness of apple contrasted the tangy flavours. Bread was soft and fluffy. Overall a well balanced egg benny!
🍔 Fried Chicken Burger $23 Bun was nice and fluffy, not dry. Chicken coating was crunchy with tender protein, paired with fresh crunchy slaw.
🍳 Chilli Scramble Egg $23 Scrambled eggs had bacon bits mixed in and cooked with delicate swirls. Croissant used was buttery and flakey, there was enough spice for that kick. Only disappointment is the consistency in execution as my avocado was a paste, wheres other posts had a much nicer avocado rose.
🍵 Matcha Latte $5.50 Not your go-to matcha for the fix, but 💯 for latte art!
☕️ Latte M $5.50

Read moreThis local cafe in Box Hill had a really pretty aesthetic and such a nice variety on their menu. The little touches of green relates to their namesake very well.
We got to try: Big Breakfast ($30.5) - we really liked the portion size of this one, it was huge. This came with your standard brekkie items which were cooked nicely. Eggs Benedict ($22) - The runny yolk will always be a winner. Loved how it was on English muffins, since it was super easy to cut into. The Rueben ($19) with Chips ($4.5) - I loved how packed this rueben was, it had so much pastrami and sauerkraut. I loved the addition pickles in it as well. It was so tangy and just everything I wanted in a sandwich. Iced Latte ($6.5) with Oat Milk ($0.7) - i didn’t think oat milk made a difference but apparently it does. Iced Matcha Latte ($7.5) - Matcha tasted how it should have and had a nice colour.
This is definitely a cafe that we will be back to. I loved that Rueben so much, I will literally come back...
