I have been through drive though to at this store many times over the last few years and they have almost never got my order right! Pretty basic orders but always something missing. They rush you at the drive through speaker “Anything else? ANYTHING ELSE??” If you pause for even a second to think about what you want “drive forward” and begin serving another car. The sad thing is those staff who give the worst service are probably commended for good serving time stats. They have difficulty hearing you and the entire drive through interaction is just painful. What happened to good service at the window so it’s easy to communicate? McDonald’s in general seem to favour stats over good service. Rush the orders through as fast as possible and then you still need to wait for your order regardless. They thrust the drinks and desserts at you without offering a cup tray. I can’t hold these drinks and desserts while I’m driving but they always appear confused when I ask for a tray! They give the frozen desserts first, which are melting while the rest of the meal arrives. That is if the ice cream machine is working, which it rarely is at this store, worse than other stores. Good luck trying to redeem an instant win. Yesterday, although my instant win items were displayed on the screen when I ordered, when I got to the serving window I found two items missing. I called out and when she eventually came to the window again she said I’ll have to drive through again and wait in the queue. They never give a receipt so I’ve lost quite a bit at this store when I got home and realised something was missing or not what I ordered. It wasn’t worth a drive back to get it and I have no way to follow it up later. Yesterday my filet o fish burger was very hard and dry. In store, multiple staff repeatedly open the bag to see what’s inside. They call your order number prematurely before your drinks and desserts are ready. Over the last 10yrs Kilsyth maccas has had the bad rep and people have been moving to Mooroolbark one instead. I now think there is going to be a shift back to Kilsyth. This morning I went down for my monthly coffee and banana bread, when I arrived no one was at counter and staff seemed flustered (people waitinf ages for food, staff saying"oh i forgot that" all over the place) . An old man had had an issue with the self service machine and needed a refund on something so the girl didn't know how to do it and got the manager. A kid came out and "helped" the old man. I use " " cause he couldn't be less interested. He was looking away, rolling eyes, looking away with his mouth open etc I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Once sorted the old man moved and I was right behind so took a step forward to be served and that's when the manager turned and walked away. I was left standing at the counter waiting to be served and it was a good minute and half before anyone even acknowledged me! Then finally a girl came from out back. I ordered 3 things, from my order there was 5 things wrong! lol I ordered a hash brown, banana bread -not toasted, a Med ice latte with skim milk and ice cream on top....She put through hash brown, banana bread toasted, SMALL iced CHAI latte with ice cream. I noticed on the receipt and called out to the girl making coffee and she changed it to not be a chai and then said "our banana bread is frozen want me to warm up?" then yells to a guy to microwave it! I then see he's given me a huge end chunk that smells funny and also gave me the whipped butter from pancakes not the normal McCafe butter. So I got the wrong size coffee and a weird frozen bit of bread and wrong butter. I then for the second time in a row have driven from Mooroolbark Maccas to Kilsyth Maccas where i got great service and the right order! I think I'll make the move...
Read moreI would give this store 0 if it was an option! I went here on Saturday night after a concert and the service in the restaurant was absolutely atrocious. I was waiting for more than 40 minutes for what is supposed to be FAST FOOD... In the end I ended up asking for a refund and didn't get our food. It was an absolute joke, 3 staff running drive through and serving all the meals that were coming through from online and the kiosks which ended up crashing because there was about 30 or more people waiting in the restaurant for there food. Orders were being completely missed, order 143 was still waiting meanwhile order number 168 was being called! The process of how food is ordered and delivered definitely does not work in this store. It was so understaffed for a night when big events were occurring and the staff were so young, including the manager, they didn't know to deal with such a rush and were basically not communicating the delay with customers. They were lucky none of the people in the restaurant spoke up and started getting very angry which would have been valid given the service. It goes to show that the management at that store is not equipped with the knowledge and experience to handle situations appropriately. I have previously worked at Maccas and the managers always factored in events going on at the time and made sure we had adequate staff to handle the upcoming rush. This is not the first time they have either taken forever or they have missed food. The management of this store needs a major overhaul!!! And so does McDonalds process of ordering food, it just does not work!! This store has definitely ruined McDonalds reputation...
