This family run buisness has been in Mooroolbark for well over 30 years and my family have been enjoying meals at Tandoori Plaza for many years now. The food is always beautiful and the consistency is absolutely amazing.
Whenever i need to recommend an Indian food my go to is most definitely Tandoori Plaza. Since giving these recommendations we have so many family members and friends go to visit as well as work colleagues getting take away from there.
But on another note for 5 of those years I now have been celebrating my birthdays there with family and close family friends. This year I celebrated a milestone birthday there.
I decided I wanted to hire out part of the restaurant where I celebrated my Country Themed party. The whole family went above and beyond from the lead up to the function keeping me updated on all the happenings and anything they needed from me before the day itself.
For the function itself, words can’t even explain how incredibly amazing they were. They designed their own country western themed drinks menu which was on display on a screen, Pav had a cartoon image of myself with a country themed touch, personalising the night for me! Signs for the food that was being served with an image along with food name, what what the food consists of and lastly the spice level.
I could continue all day explaining how amazing everyone that works at Tandoori Plaza is and how they just make everyone feel so welcome, they really are just like family. I may be moving 5 hours away but I can tell you now and I have told them already, i will be ordering food in bulk to keep in my freezer at home, and will continue my yearly birthday tradition at tandoori Plaza! Thanks so much once again to Pav, Dolly, HP and Sim for always making my birthday so special and...
Read moreI visited this restaurant today (19/02/14), the worst Indian restaurant ever. I am writing this review to make sure no one else gets sick from the poor quality of food that these guys serve. The service was good. I ordered starters and they were stone cold. Honestly, I felt that meat was old. It tasted like old microwaved food. We moved on the main course, we ordered Dal makhani and chicken do-piaza. Both of the dishes were so awful that we didn't even finish our food. We visited this restaurant for the first time and definitely this was the last time too. We paid the bill and came out of the restaurant. I threw up on the side of the road as I was instantly feeling so sick. After, my friend went inside and asked for the owner's contact number but the guy at the counter refused and said that the owner is overseas. I am writing this review to tell you all that there are so many restaurant 1000 times better than this one. Please don't eat this crap quality food these guys serve. I would never ever recommend this restaurant to my family and friends. I am reporting this incident to the council....
Read moreDisappointing.... I/We eat a lot of Indian from all over Melbourne & thought we'd give this one a go - not much else was open really - which was odd for Valentine's Day. I had my go-to Beef Vindaloo - was warned when ordering that it was Hot (despite it saying that on the menu) Yes, I know it is (supposed to be) Hot, but wasn't really. It actually tasted like it had been re-heated - cooked some other time... my vegan partner had the Daal Maharani, which she described as bland & tasteless - she had to salt it at home. Which brings me to the Saffron rice... it tasted 'chalky' and watery. Pretty disappointing all round. I'm not quite sure how this place is scoring 4.2 stars...
