Miinot Gelato — Restaurant in Melbourne

Im surprised by all the positive reviews about this place. I went to Miinot based on the hype surrounding it and I was thouroughly disappointed.

The owner (male) was working with another young woman that particular night. The owner was rude and i felt bad for another customer trying to make small talk with him. He was abrupt and dismissive. When it was my turn to be served we asked questions about different flavors since you are only allowed 2 flavors to taste and they way he responded was as if he was doing us a favor rather then meproviding him with business.

I would think that as a small business in the suburbs, customer service would be a main priority given the number of great gelato places around with great customer service, but that doesnt seem to be the case at Miinot.

Needless to say, i wont be returning there but for those looking for a great gelato place, with friendly staff and good serving portion go...

Rating it two stars for the gelato I've had. Tasted refreshing and nice, I also wanted to read the reviews and see if anyone had similar customer service like my partner and I experienced and sure enough, we aren't the only ones.

Loved the vibe of the shop, super cute and fun and the English man behind the counter seemed like he was all happy and upbeat with the first set of customers and as soon as it was our turn, we greeted him with the same upbeat attitude he displayed moments ago and his personality drastically changed, acted like we said something that offended him. We were polite, said thank you and complimented the store, but nothing, it sounded like he wanted us out right away. I understand customer service can be difficult but the shop wasn't busy and judging by the similar reviews and our experience, this man sounds selective with who he wants...

Cute icecream shop seemingly in the middle of nowhere. There are so interesting looking flavours and no descriptions about what it is and can only guess.

The service can be a bit abrupt- I pointed at one of the flavours and started asking what it is and got interrupted by the owner going “Chocolate and blood orange”. Was a bit taken aback by the attitude and didn’t know whether he was actually referring to what I was pointing at so I asked again and once again, before I finished asking, he interrupted and said, “Chocolate and Blood orange”

I did get that chocolate and blood orange flavour and I found it way too sweet. The chocolate flavour was too rich and sweet and it was punctuated with a sharp flavour of blood orange and it doesn’t feel very balanced for me anyway. I also tried some of the other flavours but they are too sweet...
